lenny hayes, should become st.kilda captain. has everything. he's an out and out superstar of the comp and if he didn't get injured saints would have beat melbourne then beaten freo. saints need him. go Saints!

Has the new coach said if he will continue to rotate the captaincy or not? I think it's done a good job at St Kilda and has helped a lot of players mature faster.

didn't mind the rotation policy, brought out the best in hamill, hayes, Ball and even Kosi when it he had it for 4 weeks.

Although I think Ross will go back to the traditional system. However the timing isn't too good, IMO hayes and hamill are the best candidates but Hayes has done his knee and wont doesn't really need the added pressure and well hamill is no certainty to get on the track.

Riewoldt off the field and around the club seems looks good towards lyon as a good leader, however I don't rate him that highly as an on-field leader.

I would rather a Hayes captain with Riewoldt, Ball vicce captains.

Lenny Hayes ...

SHOULD be Captain!

Rotation Policy is F*****!

It is a waste of time!

Just to continue along the same theme as m.diddy, what annoys me is people who tell us that the rotation policy was a waste of time and *insert player here* should be captain.

Aaron Hamill was a great captain and continues to be an inspirational figure around the club while it's hard to question the performance of each of the captains. All of them will have finished the season as better leaders than they were at the start of the season. Without the very rotation policy in place we wouldn't be in as good a position to access the candidates on their captaincy potential.

I haven't given much thought as to who should be the next captain should the Lyon choose to end the rotation policy but I do like the suggestion of Hayes with Riewoldt and Ball as the two vice captains.

It just annoys me having opposition supporters tell us that the rotating captaincy doesn't work. It did.

I agree it did work but now i think it is time to move on. I think we should have Hayes as captain with Riewoldt and Maguire as vice captains so we can do what sydney did and have a leader in every third of the field.

But the captaincy has ben cursed the last few years so maybe we should make some hack our captain.
