Sliding Doors: round one

Baghdad Bombers
IF:
HaroLad's off-season recruiting spree of rookies was anything like last season
THEN: He'll have some wonderful posters on his hands and back to back may just be possible.

Coney Island Warriors
IF:
We take one thing from the Warriors in S24
THEN: We understand that Wooshette is a bigger loss then they think

Dragons FFC
IF:
The return of Pie 4 Life posting can last the whole season
THEN: It might just outweigh the fact that the Dragons lost quality in roo2macca, Andonis1997 and Dennis ClarkeM during the off-season

East Side Hawks
IF:
The Filth Wizard can keep BRAB under his wing for the season
THEN: He might just become top 3 in the league, instead of top 10

Fighting Furies
IF:
The Furies are first to six
THEN: The league is in some serious trouble

Geelong Wolves
IF:
The Wolves want to be taken seriously
THEN: They had to do a lot more with their list turnover then they actually did in the off-season

Gold City Royals
IF:
One poster was the perfect fit for the Royals to get them off the bottom of the ladder
THEN: pantskyle is the right man for the job

Mount Buller Demons
IF:
The Demons become irrelevant in S24
THEN: They should blame RU_ and BRAB for their coup and both leaving the club

Las Vegas Bears
IF:
Any team should be impressed with their recruting during the pre-season
THEN: It should be the Bears. Bringing in Magruder, Striker457 and Broken is a wonderful starting point

Roys FFC
IF:
Fred's jumper number is retired from the Roys
THEN: This is the best thing to happen in the SFA for a long time. RIP mate

Sin City Swamprats
IF:
The Swamprats think that rookies are going to cover the loss of Millky95
THEN: They have another thing coming. Millky was all about the league.

West Coast Wonders
IF:
Bringing back a Hall of Famer to the club as one of their signings throughout the off-season
THEN: Maybe bringing back a few more would bring back "The unsociable" Wonders

Fred #1 was retired, didn't you see my post buried in our team thread during best and fairest night?
Mediocre journalism.

I obviously did and that's why I mentioned it :thumbsu:

Spot on so far with the Royals and that pantskyle fellow lifting them from bottom.

End season.

Sliding Doors: round two

Baghdad Bombers
IF:
There was an early leader for the EKA medal
THEN: the Bombers have found one in BEEG

Coney Island Warriors
IF:
The Warriors 100th SFA game is in Round 2 against the Bombers
THEN: they aren't leaving with a win. That place is a real dump (just like Geelong)

Dragons FFC
IF:
We talk about the Roys being the retierment village of the SFA
THEN: what does that make the Dragons? Looked absolute second rate at home in Round 1

East Side Hawks
IF:
One fixture was circled in on BRAB's calender at the start of the season as a must win
THEN: Round 1 was just that. Such an ego boost beating the old side

Fighting Furies
IF:
One thing the Furies are doing well
THEN: it's getting stuck into some media. But the way they're going about it just seems a little salty

Geelong Wolves
IF:
the Wolves can keep their core group of 5 posters together
THEN: they'll be alright in the long run. Just needs plenty of depth their list

Gold City Royals
IF:
we learnt something from Round 1
THEN: Blacky will be in with a huge shot at the Fred medal

Mount Buller Demons
IF:
the Demons lost in Round 1
THEN: maybe the inclusion of their captain will steer them back onto the right track. Van_Dyke was a big loss in RD 1

Las Vegas Bears
IF:
it took them to very late in the week of round 2 to finally sign up a player they wanted signed by round 1
THEN: i wonder what that player is really thinking? I'd be questioning their 'want' for someone like Magruder

Roys FFC
IF:
BEEG was front-runner for the EKA after RD1
THEN: Matt_352 wouldn't be too far behind. Great opening couple of weeks from him

Sin City Swamprats
IF:
One club is quietly going about their business
THEN: it's the Swamprats. We're just expecting a Swamprat media thread to come out but with the changes they made during the off-season, I don't expect anything to come out anytime soon

West Coast Wonders
IF:
34 points is all the Wonders can kick in their opening contest
THEN: they might need to look at a new forward strucutre. Althought they did win a flag with a % below 100 just a few seasons ago

And by popular request

SFA
IF: the league's media has turned to one bloke bloating about a 45 possesion game
THEN: the league is in some serious trouble and needs some creative minds quick smart.

What, was Haro=Bieber not creative enough?

To be fair, Magruder was doing his entire pre season all of last week.

He's the Stewie Dew of the SFA.

I don't think the Warriors know round 2 has started yet.

You had this joke planned for those two weeks waiting for someone to point it out didn't you?

Gumbies are much, much more relevant than the Wonders...

Hehe, cute

You name a measure for the last offseason to a year and you'll find gumbies meet it.

* better posters
* more controversy
* attracts better recruits

Gumbies are arguably the most relevant club in the league right now.

You're mistaking relevant for strong, which we aren't yet.
