This whole Jarryd Hayne thing makes no sense.

Where is the evidence that Hayne has been offered a 'reported' $7.5M by the AFL/GWS??

He has never played Australian football it would be a huge gamble to spend that sort of money on someone with a totally different skill set.

I reckon it's all BS from the Sydney tabloid media.

Any RL signing is not likely for sometime IF at all. IF it happens it will be a quiet approach like Folau or something, maybe? And only if Folau genuinely shows a bit of interest first. :footy:

Hayne has not shown interest - if its about money it will fail miserably.

Not only that He'd actually not be a very good AFL player. Infact, apart from being a good fullback he sucks at almost all other backs position even in Rugby League.

If Team GWS can't even spell his name correctly, one would assume that they haven't been doing a great deal of research into him.

It all stems from the karmichael hunt defection suddenly peoples attention turned to GWS and which rugby league player they'll sign up? straight away names like slater, inglis and hayne pop up and jarryd hayne is the man in western sydney and he's off contract. I dont know how hayne would go at afl but in rugby league Hayne is much better than Hunt

That's what I was thinking. Was good to read the following from GWS.

"Team GWS wishes to clarify that, contrary to a number of recent media reports, it has not made any offer to Jarred (sic) Hayne," Team GWS said on Friday in a statement.

"Team GWS remains committed to providing opportunities for youth in Greater Western Sydney to represent their team in the AFL National Competition from 2012."

Hunt's more consistent, hayne's more exciting
Hunt is just good at defence imo. Hayne's better at him at everything else

Hunt looked good for one reason, the one reason ANY player could look good ,running off Locky..

Have a look at any game where Locky didn't play....Hunt was MIA,& he was as creative as a rock..

He was tried in the halves & failed miserably.

Very over rated.

Article in today's Sunday paper quoting his manager Wayne Beavis saying that the AFL had made contact and had said that they would be calling again within the next two weeks.

Make of that what you will.

Also the obligatory crap from their so-called "Sports Editor" whinging about Sydney being a League town and bagging Nathan Rees for helping "Aerial Ping Pong"

From the odd thing I've seen on Fox Sports apparently hayne played in a different position in the rl recent games in England and didnt play that well.
If there is one requirement to be an AFL player (or really to change codes) is the ability to adapt, be versatile, make good decisions.

Confronted by an opponent standing right next to him ......just becuase he is a very good RL player is no indication he would be able to play a very different game.

It's all BS.
