"I think human consciousness is a tragic misstep in evolution.
We became too self-aware. Nature created an aspect of nature, seperate from itself.
We are creates that should not exist by natural law.
We are things that labor under the illusion of having a self, the accretion of sensory experience and feeling, programmed with total assurance that we are each somebody.
When in fact, everybody is nobody...
I think the honorable thing for our species to do is deny our programming, stop reproducing.
Walk hand in hand into extinction one last midnight. Brothers and sisters opting out of a raw deal."
When asked, why I get out of bed in the morning.
"I tell myself I bear witness but the real answer is that it's obviously my programming and I lack the constitution for suicide."

Should probably be merged with the other thread.
I wonder if we have seen the killer already. First ep was very good.

Only bad thing about this series - thus far - is it's a scant 8 episodes.

Think its better than having filler eps
Do they each have a handful of marbles in their mouths?
Other than that a-w-e-s-o-m-e!
I was really impressed with the acting. Both leads are very, very good. Writing is, obviously, top notch too. Love the whole setting art direction and photography too. They're really evoking a very vivid picture through craft rather than gimmicks.
Good summation of a really classy start to this NB lack of gimmicks, and great writing, acting and art direction. Hope the creators of Sherlock watch it and learn something.
Ah, Sherlock. Don't start me.
Rather than bugger up this thread about another show, can you post what you meant on the Sherlock thread? I think we're on the same page.
I think I have. Season 3, to me, is the opposite of what I posted re True Detective: style over substance, packed with gimmicks and lacking the heart it once had.
