Those who like this should probably give Rectify a go. That one is ultra slow burn but I liked it a lot. Parallels can be drawn between both shows.

Cheers for the recommendation - had heard no buzz on Rectify at all, but it's top shelf!

Am i the only one that enjoys watching how they make these types of shows nearly as much as the show itself?

they always give a great insight into how much work goes into making movies/tv. Can take hours to set up for one shot and it may only last 5 seconds on film.

Also shows how hard it must be to act (well). some shots go for 5 seconds, others a few minutes at the most. so you have to get in and out of character so often. be annoying as hell i reckon.

I also like the sound in the show too. The Lucinda Williams song poking through while Matt got ready to join the bikies was awesome. Atmospheric and summed up the south, his condition, so well.

The girls with the dolls and the picture above, they have obviously seen something. Maybe the grandparents are part of the cult? (a bit far fetched, i know).

The killings are planned well in advance because in that picture above, she looks quite young. Maybe Hart's kids have been selected?

I still kind of think the murder is secondary to the development of Cohle and Hart. It's a manhunt but I think it's more about their methods and interactions. There have been a lot of clues about who is involved in the cult and I don't think there will be some big twist.

Oh i get that. The serial killer arc could finish in the most simple way and it'd still be great.

I think there will be some kind of reveal though that will have us going "ooooooh shit".

Agree with this mostly, I'm guessing it'll end with the other two detectives ruling Rusty and/or Marty out as suspects, then you perhaps see the remaining list of suspects, like Tuttle, or the grandfather, etc. No definite answer, but enough of a clue to finish on and draw your own conclusions.
