If Ben miller did go to kalkee where would they be expected to finish? At the moment with current signings surley they could slide into 5th at least?
Absolutely, even without miller, they’ve bought in 3 quality senior players and Smith is a real difference maker. They’ll make finals no problems.

With the other traveler's not returning and Doug grinning shopping him self around. They will sit the same. You’d like to see kalkee keep their list then add those guys in. Plus the gunns, Riley MacFarlane, and a few new names. Then I’d lock them in for sure!. I’ve heard Ben miller is Staying at Dimboola but traveling through out the year

Grining staying also !!

Walter leaving quanny also hurts them a lot, is orval going around? Walter 44 goals out the door puts more pressure on Judah Hobbs to perform, barring a bag of 7 early in the year when Harrow were bit out of form most of his goals come against the bottom sides, be hard for them to beat Harrow with him as the main target forward

With the early inclusions & departures it's looking like a very interesting season coming up. Can't see Quanny & HB improving on last year. Do they come back to the field a bit? Pimp drop off. Natimuk lose a couple back to Saints that they couldn't afford to lose... Rup have picked up a few depth players but no stars. Kalkee with a couple of handy in's should play finals. Laharum top 3? Stawell the big sliders with their mass exodus? Edenhope with some signings but were God awful last year. Taylor's Lake selling the farm again with Deek & that peanut from Pimp, the wheels will fall off by round 5 again... Kaniva been quite but plenty of coin in that fertile soil on the border to drag a few out of SA again.

Good assessment. For Edenhope ... Not having to have guys run around twice in the day would be an objective for them, regardless of how many wins they can muster. No more merger talk (to my knowledge) and the fixture is out, so it's all systems go for 2026!!!

Said it earlier, reckon its a race of 3, maybe 4 if Pimp can recruit heavier top end talent to take them to the next level.
HB and NQ haven't announced a lot but Laharum have. Others all quiet bar the bottom sides which they needed to add to try and be somewhat competitive.

Talking to a few older gentleman who have represented multiple district league clubs and they seem to think in 5 years time this league will be no more.
Hard to not agree with them in some what. Majority of the clubs are really struggling to recruit and create any real buzz within the competition.
I remember 15 odd years ago when the best of the district league would of pushed the best of the wimmera league in a game of the best of the best. Now I reckon the best of the district league would be lucky to score against the best of the Wimmera.

Horsham realistically has 8 or 9 footy clubs, a huge footy town but yeah I’m worried about the clubs further out with a lack of young people.

Were there as many travelling players 15 years ago? I would have thought that more money gets spent now.
Perhaps it’s just out of necessity due to less locals being able to play
