Hi Hawker399

Presuming you’re a non member.

1- how to buy tickets? Ticketmaster

2 -where to sit? Do you want undercover in case it rains? Out in the sun (hopefully a nice day). Not sure how much undercover there will be with the redevelopment and tickets aren’t on sale yet.

3- pre game/post game pubs Gunners Arms, Irish Launceston, Park Hotel Tasmania, Sports Garden Hotel, The Royal Oak Hotel, Tandy’s Alehouse, St John Craft Beer Bar, Du Cane Brewery & Dining Hall, The Barrell Collective, Cinco Passiones, Midnight Rambler.

4- any other advice. If you’re flying in, recommend doing so the day before if you can. LST airport can get very foggy in winter. If you will have a car head out to the Tamar Valley.

Presuming you have accommodation sorted.
How long have you got in LST? 1 or 2 nights? A week? A little more info and I’m sure the locals can make more suggestions!
Cheers

Thanks RD your response it is appreciated. 2 nights in Launceston.
So many pub options.
From yours or anyone's experience, is it reasonable or even possible to buy 2 tickets as a walk up patron i.e. no pre booking?

Pre-redevelopment there weren’t many sellouts so more likely presently.

I’d suggest pre-booking in advance just to be certain. Especially for undercover seats. Or you may end up standing.

All feels a bit sad typing this out knowing we're losing our home away from home...

1. https://www.ticketmaster.com.au/haw...-launceston-01-08-2026/event/2500646DBA7C7606
On sale from Monday at 10am for members and 2pm for general public. Would be best to get in quick, if your trip is already planned I imagine the game tickets are the most important part, so I'd jump on that link 5 mins before they release.

2. Personal preference, I like WU1, good view of the game itself, while also being able to see outside the ground on the far side. You can go right up to the fence and watch the boys warm up, then go up the stairs to your seat.

3. Pre game depends on your accom location but anything that allows you to walk down Tamar street across the river onto Invermay Rd, then stop in at the Park Hotel practically right next to the ground. Nothing fancy but good community feel, feels like a local footy set up in the most complimentary way possible.
Post game, I like Royal Oak and Gunners Arms, the 'C--k'n'Bull British pub also pleasantly surprised me. Otherwise just google the ones RD listed and take your pick...or even ask someone seated around you, it's a much more chatty + friendly vibe at UTAS compared to MCG/Marvel where you're not really speaking to anyone you didn't come with (unless you have a reserved seat at the G). Worst case scenario follow the crowd.

4. Sunday morning, grab yourself a coffee and walk down to City Park and watch the monkeys for a bit.
The country club has a small casino in there if you are looking for a late night offering.
