I just got back from the game and all I can say is words cannot express the way I felt and the way I feel since the game finished tonight ...

Take nothing away from the Broncos, they really stepped up when it counted and capitalized on all their opportunities. We, on the other hand, were just unable to do that. No need to complain about referee's guys, that's just Rugby League ...

I've got to say i'm pretty choked up right now, I just can't believe we lost ...

Well done Broncos, a fine performance, and a great way to send of a champion like Webcke.

Best of luck for the World Club Challenge and in 2007 guys ...

Class philhawk. Not sure if you had read the refereeing threads prior to posting this though, so I reserve the right to change my mind. ;)

Who cheated?

And yes the Victory won. From all reports they seemed to have had a controversial win too.

So I gather that if the 2 50/50 calls tonight went the Storms way you'd be crowing about the great win instead of stirring **** all over the other forums like you are now?

Pull your head in. Take the loss like a man, you're trolling around the place wont be doing Rugby League any favours or will see the reversal of the result.

At the end of the day we were beaten by the better team and history will agree with that ...

Can't really say congrats to the opposition when you get cheated out of a few crucial calls. Fair enough if bad calls go both ways, but **** me dead. They all went against the Storm tonight. Not just 1 or 2, but a ****ing **** load.

All I can say is welcome to the family man. You bleed, you sweat, you cry and you still don't win. You know what it's like to feel Rugby League.

I'm a Parra fan, I was choked up in 2001.. but even worse was last years final against the Cowboys, I couldn't even speak to my wife for 3-4 hours last year.. I was a wreck.

Well done Broncos, a fine performance, and a great way to send of a champion like Webcke.

Best of luck for the World Club Challenge and in 2007 guys ...
Best expression ever, I hope you enjoy the ups and downs from the Storm for many years to come. :thumbsu:

I'm no league fan, but even I thought the officiating was rubbish. That being said I don't know the rules all that well.

Can someone explain to me what the call with the Matt King try actually was? A knock on by Brisbane should've been called advantage (or at least possession given to Melbourne), a knock on by Melbourne should've been a Brisbane scrum (I think, but aren't certain), but from memory Brisbane were given possession to begin another set of 6 (Again, I'm probably wrong).

I thought the contest in the air was fair, and the ball came forward off the fullback's arm onto the Melbourne player's head before King caught it and ran forward to cross.

Then you shouldn't be acting so aggrieved if you don't know the rules.

The ruling was the Melbourne player who contested the ball in the air with Hodges(Hoffman ?) also layed a hand on the ball, which was propelled forward, causing a knock-on.

It occured on the 5th tackle which is why the video referee ruling was Brisbane play the ball.

Not aggrieved at all, but curious. I've seen similar incidents paid as tries more than once.

Cheers for the answer. Bad luck Storm, good game though.
