If only your inspirational leader Mark Rucciuto (RESPECT) had had the slightest of impacts you probably would have been able to maintain that lead you held 99.9% of the game.

Ooh that hurts...

Macca
Goodwin

Where they out there...

Burton, delist him...the 10% of his good work is outweighed by 90% of crap.

No Forward Structure, it is just kick and hope

Thompson and Knights tried their guts out..

The better team won on the day...The one that thought it was a contest, not the one that thought it would just unfold.
1. Vandenberg played an absolutely dog tagging act today on McLeod. Did not look at the ball once. Among many reasons for wanting to win that game it was so Vandenberg's last game was spent entirely paying no attention to the ball. I'm all for close checking, but that was not football.

2. Goodwin wasn't that bad. A lot worse than him today.

3. Get a grip. He's a good footy player who made some terrible decisions today. Still in our Top 10 players.

My other thoughts are that Crawford is a gun of the highest order. We did not pay him enough respect today and he cut us up badly.

A lot has been said about Massie playing on Franklin for too much of the game. Can't blame Massie there and it was also very tough to see who else could play on Franklin. He is probably the hardest key forward to match up on because he has much better mobility than any other big guy. But a move had to be made a lot sooner than it was. Stevens probably should've got a crack earlier.

What the hell was with Rutten today? Roughead could've punished us a lot more. Everyone has been talking about Franklin because he was the major difference, but Roughead easily could've been too, but was inaccurate. Rutten had a very poor game on him.

VB = ****ing gun. That chase down tackle on the wing in the last quarter. Winning that 1 on 3 on the same wing in the second. THAT is why I (and many others) love him.

U probably thought Adelaide was gonna thrash us?

to not win the easiest of finals games today, it is obvious the adelaide crows need to have a review of its operations, staff and general direction going forward into 2008. hard decisions need to be made, the emotion needs to be taken out and now that the Roo has finished they need to assess where they are at and where they want to be. take all the sentimental bullsh1t out of it.

I said that at Half time, McLeod was being molested, and it was being ignored.

But still, if that was the case, why didn't we move him down forward, or throw him on the ball.

BASICALLY, WHY DIDN'T WE TRY ANYTHING?!

We did try him on the ball. He was in the centre square for some hitouts. I think it was the third quarter. It wouldn't have mattered though. You really had to be there to see how tight Vandenberg was playing on him. Even when the ball was at the other end of the ground he would have an arm across him and sometimes had his back to the play. McLeod was working so hard today.

You lost to the better side on the day. Every loss, thats what happens....

But.. let's blame somone. Blame the coach... I've heard that one before.

Haha could have so easily been the other way, and if it was would you have been so accepting of a loss that knocked you out of the finals

I thought the umpiring was atrocious. All those 50 metre penalties were so soft and mcgreggor getting paid marks that just bounced off his chest.
Hands in the back rule better be gone next year.

Most interesting stat. Hawthorn 10 scores in the last quarter, Adelaide 3 scores. Even allowing for a rushed behind or three, that is a lopsided result and indicates that Hawthorn were well on top. To only win by three says good pressure by the Crows on the kicker.

I doubt we would have won next week though. Possible but extremley difficult from outside the Top 4.

Lets look at the positives from this year. I think they were 2 great moments in our season, the Round 18 win vs the Power and the Round 22 win vs Collingwood. They were two great victories for sure!

Our negatives, losing games by 1,2 and 3 points, losing way too many home games and games against struggling sides. The delisting of Ben Hart plus Matthew Clarke walking out also hurt us.

I predicted this season perfectly. No top 4, but still top 8. Its a year to mostly forget about.

I think we should celebrate it with the 10th anniversary of our first premiership later this month.

I cannot understand with 60 seconds to go & kicking out with a 3 point lead, why you would not kick to yourself then milk it for a rushed behind, this can be done 2 times & you have used up the clock & still won by a point. Frankly very poor time management, these players are paid to do the job, Johncock is supposed to be the best decision maker in th team, nearly coughed it up on the kick out the more senior players finished the job.

My brother mentioned the extra point idea, but to blame poor decision making by kicking to Thompson is a misnomer

I would kick to Thompson 99% of the time and be happy with that choice...its what Thompson did with it that hurt.

You surely can't be serious  Ben Hart and Matthew Clarke both would have had minimal impact on this season - out courtesy of injury. Clarke managed 10 games for the sainters and Hart had how many for North? By the way, Matty Clarke didn't walk out... he retired - or rather it was a mutual decision between Matty and the Club. Sainters offered him another year after the fact and he decided to give it a go.

The reason we had a crap year was down to:

Injuries (and plenty of them)
Inconsistancy (and plenty of it)
Skills (normally spot on with our skills, this year in some matches we looked inept)
Decision making (probably the fundamental thing we got the most wrong all year)
Coaching (match day problems - not making moves)
