Heathcote DFL discussion 2026

I would have thought even the most casual observer of this league would look at the first two rounds and think what a cracker it looks like. Too many taking a drive by, looking silly then pissing off to the next forum

4 games and the highest margin of 40 points, the league is looking very healthy unlike our local “major league”.

Red dirt specialist you are obviously very happy with the start of your White Hills team and so you should cause i reckon i wouldn’t be the only one who thought they would be 0-2 instead of 2-0. Im sure Spika would be wrapped with how they have started the yeah and no doubt big Bart sawyer would be a happy president. Your right i know nothing about this league apart from playing over 200 games and being part of the Heathcote league for 15-20 years. So yeah what would i know i guess

There’ll be a better understanding of where White Hills is placed come 5.30 Sunday post Colbo at Colbo, albeit their results so far are a positive after the year they had last year.

Great game of country footy yesterday at the zoo. Two really good sides and a great standard of footy played in good spirits.
North have some good young players and Colbo have a good spread of even contributors.
North unlucky not to win but colbo were more composed in the last 5 minutes.
Great spectacle for the league.

I had a gut feeling that it's been too long for Bennett and the side could lack that ambition and just be going through the motions, although still a stacked side so finish top 4 for me.

Another great round of games this week. Will be a true test to see where the hillies are at, Huntly & Mounts will be very interesting. What’s going on at Huntly? Big aspirations at the start of the year and copped a bit of a reality check the first two weeks.

I think they have a few injuries? Not sure how long Morecombe is out for but Lachie Wilson didn’t play on the weekend. I watched the second half of Leitchy v Heathcote, was a great game and Heathcote had chances to win, I would nearly say they go in as favourite this weekend. 0-3 would be a disastrous start to the year to a team who I predicted would be top 3

It is what it is. All part of respect for Anzac day. Could of played a couple of Saturday night games but all clubs agreed on Sunday so thats what will happen. Few cracking games to watch so will be another great round in the best league in central Victoria

Yeah i agree with that and could be a couple that could go either way i reckon to. LBU at home hard to beat so Mounts will need to be on early. The other is Huntly with so much hype in the pre season and could go 0-3 which would be a terrible start. So i reckon they should be up and about to get there season back on track.

Has to be doesn’t it? Injuries don’t help but I’ve watched them twice now and from what I’ve seen they are a fair bit behind Leitchy and Heathcote.
