Does the HDFL play an Interleague game against anyone at all???
Yer they give the Lodden Valley the short back and sides in 2003 and when the LV withdrew they successfully took on the Lexton Plains for a couple of years. There was no game last year but I think the league is keen to re kindle it given a suitable opponent.

Whats the verdict on huntlys chris long (#18) doona? he was named as huntlys best, a fair effort considering it was his first senior game, is he worth the big bucks reports have that he is getting paid?
The kid looked ok for sure - kicked two quick ones in the 2nd which made us react, but from where I was sitting I thought Ad Campbell and Stevie Clohesy were best

Yeah heathcotes new coached Meldrum looked very dangerous at centre half forward kicked 3 goals presented strong all day. With the return of Matt waters this week heathcotes forward line will be added with even more depth to the likes of lech featherstone, handcock, Meldrum
It surprises me that Featherstone can't get a game in the Pioneers side. he's a fair lump of a kid, takes a good mark and seems to be skillful enough. Maybe someone from saints land could comment?

Meldrum will be a very good player whether he's at CHF or Ruck.
Heathcote's fwd line looks fairly handy:

Waters, Meldrum, Featherstone, and small forward Hancock sniffing around the crumbs. Throw Tommy Tobin in there on occasions and the sainters will kick some good scores this year :thumbsu:

on the Interleague thing - why don't the HDFL approach the Picola league or the Kyabram District comp? Is there a spare weekend for an Interleague game in our comp this year?

Doon, you'd be wrapped with John Taylor's start with the club kicking 10. Is Adrian 'Dipper' Wilson going to play for you guys this weekend - he will add some strength to roos half back line, in what should be a cracker of a game against the Bloods.

I was at the heathcote game on the weekend, was impressed by heathcotes young players. i saw there was a video camera recording the match does anyone know anything about this ? would like to get my hands on a copy. can video evidence be used at the hdfl tribunal ? would be interesting considering the 4 reports that were made during the game.

Have known in the past King where video evidence has been provided to the tribunal and resulted in a player being found not guilty of the charge, but club had to supply television and video with slow motion, so that members could see the incident on several occasions and at differing speeds.

Must agree with Doona that Adam Campbell and Steve Clohesy were the best players in the brown and gold on the weekend, but thought that young Long would've been in the best three for the Hawks.

Yes he is, but not that dopey he goes alright. HJ32, i am surprised as well not playing pioneers, got a taste last year but doesnt seem in their plans at the moment. Young Salidino who also played at the weekend will get a chance also. :thumbsu:

i am not sure if you were watching all game but you have to be kidding about steven clohesy being in the best? i thought he was well down on his usual standards.. i think the return of garry moulday this week will boost there (huntly's) spirits and forward line..

did watch it hitlar, thought Huntly were very good til half time and thats when Clohesy and Campbell got most their imporant touches in the middle and going into your Fwd 50 - so I stand by my sentiments that both were important to the scoreline at half time.

Taylor's 10 lifts Roos

by Matt Nicholls

TEN goals to Broadford Football Club’s recruit John Taylor was the springboard for victory at Harley Hammond Reserve on Saturday.
Against Huntly, the Roos kicked 20 second-half goals to destroy the Hawks by 113 points.

I have heard of only 3 good players at huntly Clohesy, Longy, Geary is there anyone else that can have an impact on a game from huntly because if they don't i'm predicting a similar year to last having little success.

after the first round in??????? you'd have to stick with mounts. they have show time and time again they win when it count.

on a serious note how many flags have they won???
It's only very early in the piece but in what shapes as a very even year I'd have Colbo a slight favourite and I wouldn't jump off Elmore yet they got rolled by 3 points played a large proportion of Saturdays game with 17 and were without a host of regulars.

its often a case of who you are,not what you are in those kind of sides.
