What can he possibly add to your team, a waste of a pick that could have been used to pick up a younger player i reckon.

Do you really think we don't know Heffernan's strengths and weaknesses better than you ? He played over 100 games with Essendon before we cleared him to Melbourne. Getting him back is a risk, but one we're prepared to take.Yze_Class said:I mean this pretty seriously,

Footballs a cut-throat business, you wont win anything if you are drafting players back for sentimental reasons.Stargazer said:Do you really think we don't know Heffernan's strengths and weaknesses better than you ? There's more at stake than merely drafting him back.We owe him - after dumping him through our salary debacle. Some feel we owe him.
We axed three blokes who had been premiership players because of our mishandling of the salary cap - such acts can destroy a clubs fabric, and being a club whose players don't usually want to leave, it's a matter of PRIDE that we try and make amends.Yze_Class said:Footballs a cut-throat business, you wont win anything if you are drafting players back for sentimental reasons.
We had the same situation with Woey last year, but im happy we decided not to take him, sure it would have been great to have him back but it wouldnt have been in the best interests of the Footy club.
