You won't be the fittest person if you're just starting to play. Match fitness is the crucial element of fitness. Have to be able to take a hit to the body and get up and go again. Weights and running don't train you for that.I'm probably going to start playing footy for the first time next yearI want to get myself to the level where I'm easily the fittest player out there, so I can really contribute and be a good player.
