Wow...A PPV called Hell in a Cell, and only one match is actually in a Cell? Hell, only one match is a specialty match?
At TLC there's only 1 TLC match. ;)

Probably the worst PPV card since that ECW one a few years back.

WWE Capitol Punishment was awful.

Ziggler d. Kingston
Riley d. Miz
Del Rio d. Big Show
Jackson d. Barrett
Punk d. Mysterio
Orton d. Christian
Bourne d. Swagger
Cena d. R-Truth

Aside from Punk/Mysterio and Orton/Christian the PPV was one big steaming pile of hot trash. Even Dolph/Kofi wasn't was good as what it should have been.

This one will be on a par with that. Two to three matches to look forward to, the others meh.

Not a bad PPV i kind of feel dirty for this but i look forward to Show vs Shaemus really have enjoyed the Big Show the past month actually hope he wins

Looks horrible on paper.

Looking like a good PPV coming up. Five very solid matches coming up. Excited for Team Hell No Vs Rhodes Scholars.

Um, what?

Um, what?

WWE Capitol Punishment from 2011 was very, very ordinary.

Dolph Ziggler d. Kofi Kingston - solid opening (not spectacular)
A-Ry d. Miz - A-Ry has been next to invisible since
Del Rio d. Big Show - was a very boring match
Jackson d. Barrett - boring as bat shit (Jackson spends 80% of the match doing the same move, over and over and over again - talk about Cena's five moves of doom we have Jackson's one move of shame).
CM Punk d. Mysterio - good match (first real "good" match of the night)
Randy Orton d. Christian - match of the night (one of the matches of the year)
Evan Bourne d. Jack Swagger - the toilet break match of the night
John Cena d. R-Truth - was not critically well received

People could have turned off after Orton Vs Christian and called it a night and not have lost anything.

Let's preview Hell in a Cell and the way I anticipate the card will go down in match order;

IC Championship: The Miz Vs Kofi Kingston - their Main Event match was lauded as one of TV's matches of the year and Miz battled through it with a ****ing concussion. If the match was THAT good with Miz concussed a PPV match is something to look forward to -- comparable to Dolph Vs Kofi.

World Heavyweight Championship: Sheamus Vs Big Show - Prior to the Big Show feud Sheamus had grown very stale on me. This feud has been somewhat entertaining. Show is capable of a reasonable match. At the very worst this is much better match than Wade Vs Jackson. They've hinted strongly at Dolph walking away champion so that gets me every time.

WWE Tag-Team Championship: Team Hell No Vs Team Rhodes Scholars - Everything Cody Rhodes touches is gold. Bryan and Kane have been one of the highlights on WWE television this year. Sandow is entertaining - admittedly I used to loathe him but I've come right around on him. I'm excited for this match.

Alberto Del Rio Vs Randy Orton -- I'm not all that excited for this match. However, and I'm a huge Christian fan, if these two have the chemistry they could put in something memorable or it could be a 20+ minute snorefest. It has a chance to be very good.

Diva's Championship - Eve (c) Vs. Kaitlyn Vs. Layla -- Eve and Layla got "this is awesome" chants from the RAW crowd a couple of weeks ago. When was the last time you heard that? It's going to be better than the toilet break match from a year ago.

WWE Championship Hell in a Cell match - CM Punk (c) Vs Ryback -- Try telling me that you're more interested in seeing R-Truth Vs John Cena in the main event of a WWE pay per view than you are seeing CM Punk, whose held his championship for almost a full year, against Ryback, whose being booked as this generation's Goldberg / Brock Lesnar. At the very least this match is intriguing. It wont be a classic by any means but it has the potential to impact the WWE a helluva lot more than Cena Vs Truth ever did. Whoever wins, however they win could impact WWE television for a long time to come. If Ryback wins then whose going to beat him? (If it's Cena I'm going to puke) but if CM Punk wins, then what? Will Brock Lesnar interfere setting up Ryback Vs Lesnar (if so, does Heyman turn?) If not, does Heyman turn on Punk (they've shown potential for that happening) to take on Ryback as the "next big thing"? Does Cena interfere and screw Punk? Does Cena interfere and screw Ryback? Does Cena try and interfere and get shell shocked? This match is intriguing.

It has POTENTIAL to be very interesting. The main event is the first WWE main event in a long time where you just don't have a gut feeling on the result - even if you ultimately tip against that gut feeling.

Scrap themed PPV's..
You want to scrap Royal Rumble? WTF....

In all seriousness, I know you're not talking about that one, but on the other 4;

mitb? yes (have it at Wrestlemania)
Elimination chamber? yes (Have it at Survivor Series)
Hell in a Cell? Yes (Have it at No Way Out)
TLC? No, that one can stay. :)

Rumble being the exception, yes. 50/50 on TLC but I think the older PPV titles were a lot better than now. I also don't like the supershow stuff, much better when it was strictly Raw/SD.. imo

Swap these two IMO. Although the names suit the PPV's No Way Out of Hell in a Cell and the winner of the Elimination Chamber is the 'survivor' but Elimination Chamber has been in the No Way Out timeslot since NYR got scrapped. Wouldn't mind seeing Armageddon returning and seeing HIAC there though.

Thoughts on todays PPV
Even though I didn't watch it, it seemed solid from the results. The ending to the mainevent makes sense. Punk is still champ, Ryback is still strong and we have a new ''Heyman guy'. Survivor Series I'm seeing Team Heyman vs Team Vince. Punk, Brock + Others vs. Cena, Ryback + others (maybe Trips)

Caught that but was just wondering what had happened between Tuesday and Thursday that changed your opinion from this PPV having '5 very solid matches' to comparing it to Capitol Punishment 2011, which in your opinion was a terrible PPV?

Did the PPV live down to expectations or was it a pleasant surprise? What happened in the Punk/Ryback match?

What happened in the Punk/Ryback match?
Ryback dominated the whole way.
Had Punk up for the shellshock , nut-shot from ref who then held Ryback's leg's down while counting the fastest 3-count ever.

Ryback goes nuts , gorilla-presses ref from ring to cell wall , chasesPunk up the cell.....shellshock
