So what does the updated list look like?

The list will stays the same for a while:

Official Candidate Status:

North Melbourne

Geelong
Hawthorn
St. Kilda

On the Fence (Not in order):

Port Adelaide
Adelaide
Carlton
Melbourne
Richmond
Essendon

Eliminated from Contention:

Brisbane

Western/Footscray
Sydney
Fremantle
West Coast Eagles
Gold Coast Suns

Collingwood
GWS Giants

In other news, I'm watching a match between North Melbourne and St. Kilda, two Candidates competing, and it was a hot match, as North leads St. Kilda by a point at half-time, so third quarter and the last quarter should be interesting to watch :)

Not only that but I'm implementing a system which will award points for teams:

Win - 3
Loss - 0
Tie - 1

Bonus Points:

Loss by 6 points or less - 1
Win by 50 points or more - 1

So that's the way it will be exciting...

In other news, three "on-the-fence" teams lost to three eliminated teams, but it's not official matches because I will not count the games against the eliminated teams, but only one game that will count and that is North Melbourne-St. Kilda (right now, it's 68-69, end of 3rd Quarter).

Hi Rakuten,

Glad to see you've got a heap of replies to this thread and that you've decided to keep Hawthorn in your list of candidates.

IMO in your candidate list you should either go for Hawthorn or Geelong. Either way if you follow the game closely you'll end up hating whichever one you don't choose.

The reason I suggest one of these teams:

  • Both teams are premiership contenders.
  • Good banter between supporters of the two clubs.
  • Both have some really exciting players (Franklin, Rioli for Hawthorn and Johnson and Chapman for Geelong).
  • Both involved in rivalries which you won't get with NM and StK. (Rivalries are the best games imo, and most of Hawthorn and Geelong's rivals are currently quite good so you'll get competitive games).

2011 Was in Melbourne for that round, strolled past Etihad to just after quarter time on ym way back to my hotel from our thumping of Hawthorn. ;)

I decided for the 2012 AFL season after searching and looking over at pros and cons and talking with my Australian friend I know well, I decided that for the 2012 AFL season only, I will support North Melbourne. After the season, it may be possible that the temporary support will become permanent.

But I will continue watching the matches and determine which team I will pick as my favorite team in the future or retain North Melbourne as my favorite team permanently.

Fair decision, hope you enjoy watching the games!

Look like they could make finals in coming years! Last year they got the motivation they needed to do well after getting smashed by Collingwood.

I highly endorse Brad Scott too. He is in fact twins with our coach :thumbsu:

Good luck. Wouldn't enter the Bay 13 forum though, as North cops A LOT of flak on there.
