Not sure how someone can be scared of something the size of a finger nail. I remember I was at this girls house a while ago and I needed to go outside to get my shoes before I went home and she saw a spider (from memory wasn't that big) and she made sure I didn't let it inside. she was deadset worried. I was just like wtf with a face like fry from futurama with the notsureifsrs.jpg

THIS.

I could destroy a spider, 300 of their kids and everyone they've ever known and loved with my index finger. Why fear them?

Find a decent behaviour therapist. Graded exposure conducted in a safe, structured way's the only way to go.(some o' the photies in this thread'll prove helpful)

Reckon one o' my greatest successes in therapy was treatin' a woman with spider-phobia. She presented to treatment after havin' a huge panic attack in which she pissed herself and did her back. Initially she couldn't even look at the written word "spider", ended up with a fishtank in her loungeroom with a pet huntsman.

True story

They're really not that dangerous in most situations, but in saying that we get about 1 or 2 people into the ED each month after ingesting a spider from their cereal. They're really difficult to spot and once you bite down on them the poison glands are normally broken open and some of the contents swallowed before you can spit it out.

Get some crazy allergic reactions from it that close the oesophagus right up.

Don't worry Porksy.

You will only eat around 7 spiders in your sleep during your life time.

HA HA, I was just about to tell Porksy to use ear plugs & use those masks that cover your mouth & nose when you go to sleep. If only you knew how many of them creep into your orifices at night, you would be too scared to go to sleep.

True story, a friend of mine at high school came to school freaked out, she woke up in the morning & couldn't open her eye so she went to look in the mirror to find out why, she had a giant huntsman on her eye.

Sweet dreams Porksy. :D
