I'm coming to Sydney for a wedding next month. I have no idea of the city or locations, and I need to book my accommodation.

The ceremony is at St Stephens in Macquarie Street, and the reception in on "The Pontoon".

I want to stay somewhere central to those places. What's good?

There are a heap of fantastic hotels in Sydney to stay in depending upon your budget.

In my view the best is the ANA, which is 5 star, in the Rocks which is right near the Harbour Bridge. Great views, bars, restaurants etc. Very romantic ;) . Rates are not too unreasonable.

Thanks Doc. Budget's not really an issue, and as I'm only really intending to sleep there, the bars and restaurants aren't a huge thing either. I do like the idea of harbour views though.....

Someone suggested the Park Royal. Any good?

Will there be time for you to meet the sydney bigfooty members while you're up ? ;) ;)

Do I? I had no idea I was giving that kind of impression on here? ;)

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll check them out.

And Luke, absolutely - you're on! Wedding is on the 23rd of March, but I will probably stay until maybe the 26th? Not sure yet. I'll keep you posted.

If there is a party to be had then let me throw in another recommendation. A feed at the Balkan seafood grill in Oxford St Darlinghust. Have dined there about 30 times. It's Brilliant :)
