He's a good spoiler and good running rebounder. Gets his hands on the footy. Had 25 disposals in a match. Brown never got those kind of stats.
TG, I hate to spoil things when you are being so positive about a new recruit (and happy to talk down a player we have let go!), but Schade's highest number of disposals in an AFL game is 17. That came against Melbourne earlier this year, he also had 8 marks in the game. Perhaps you've added the two together (for some reason) to get 25:- http://afltables.com/afl/stats/players/H/Henry_Schade.html

I think he's a player well worth recruiting, he has the size, he's young enough to have improvement in him, and we obviously need players of his type. The Bulldogs have just won a flag with Hamling playing as a key defender, Schade has probably done as much up to this stage of his career as Hamling had done a year ago.

Not sure if those stats are correct. Grab the Sen stats. He actually had 29 in NEAFL game. Good for a tall defender.

The stats I'm referring to are his AFL stats, I've checked them with another reliable source. Schade's best disposals tally in an AFL game is 17. If you had been talking about what he'd got up to when playing at a significantly lower level you really should have made that clear, but he certainly hasn't had an AFL game where he's had 25 disposals.

I agree with Thatsgold that he'll be our first rookie elevated for a long-term injury.

Cox will most likely be elevated in March as the 40th player. That leaves Thomas, McCarthy, Mackie, Lynch and Schade.
Thomas is coming off two years without football and is competing for a spot in our position with the most depth.
McCarthy and Lynch are project talls that will take a while to develop.
Mackie looks promising but is largely an unknown quality. He'll be starting from the same spot Manteit was. Hopefully Mackie will show more AFL weapons than what Manteit had though.
That leaves Schade. He has played at an AFL level in the past. He is only starting behind Reid, Keeffe, and Dunn. If he has a strong preseason and plays well in the VFL he'll be first called on as a replacement.

I actually agree with TG on this one as well. It makes sense to me.

Depends who gets injured. Clearly the most experienced of an inexperienced bunch. Its good to see the rookie list is being used for actual rookies for a change....although we're in for some pain if Grundy goes down.

Handy depth player who fills an immediate need for a tall, last line defender after Frost and Brown departures. Not unlike Frost he has some good attributes but has been in the system for some time and yet failed to really make a senior spot his own. Will get his chance to turn that around.
