Play him in defence.

Ayres is hell bent on ruining him up forward. He is an AFL player for years to come ;)

Ben Rutten please get well soon!!!!!!!

I don't care what anybody on this board thinks, we should be playing Rutten at FF. The guy gets results, no matter what people may think of his athleticism.

Think Larry Bird - couldn't jump, couldn't run, was not quick - yet he turned out to be one of the greatest players in the history of the NBA. Why? Because he got results, period.

Man, am I crazy comparing Rutten to Bird? :)

I know it's a stretch people, but you get my point.

YEP :p

Larry Bird is a legend of basketball. Arguably in the top 3 of all time greates players. If not certainly in the top 5. I mean who was in the same league as Larry?????? Jordan, Magic and Chamberlain.

Rutten would have to have immense talent to make up for his lack of athletisism. He has talent but no to the proportions that you are talking about.

Stiffy, please pay attention to my point.

The point is not that Rutten is a "Bird-in-the-making". The point is that the guy - SO FAR - has gotten results at full forward and I think should be given more game time there, especially since we don't have anybody else demanding the spot.

That's all.

I concur. Rutten at full-forward for mine.

Thank goodness Ayres returned Hentschel back into defence. Trent was the biggest positive from today's game. Cool under pressure, moves well for a tall guy & looks to use the ball (even it means holding on to it a bit longer).

He had a good game, did young Hentschel.

Ayres has to keep playing this lad in defence to allow him to get his confidence right up, rather than trying to stick him up forward now and again.

He and Schuback were two positives from the game.
