Must have been another Essendon loss on the weekend that needs to be deflected?
 
I wonder who leaked it. Did the players give the all clear to release it? They must have, didn't David Jones determine it was up to them to make it public?

And why not leak just the end report, that give the reasoning of the tribunal for their decision?
 
Starting to read through this info but thought I share this quote from David jones and QC grace, from day 1 of the actual hearing.

"MR GRACE: So that's a matter of concern. There's been leaks galore in this case. Even yesterday - - -
CHAIRMAN: Sometimes I wonder why I come here. I may as well just read Mr Legrand or something. I think I can guess where Mr Legrand is getting his material from. But anyway."

This could be a long thread. Would be hopeful that Malifice, our other legal lurkers and the legal blogger that have been following saga, all have some spare time this week - otherwise this thread could get messy.

I bet there are some sea-kayakers, ex cricketers and disgruntled, ex-ASADA employees are already on to it.

I wonder how much of it will really be a surprise though; and also how wide of the mark Chip's first book is?

Former Essendon sports scientist Stephen Dank and Dr Ijaz Khan used Thymosin to aid rugby league star Sandor Earl’s recovery from shoulder reconstruction surgery. Dank reported use of peptide to then Bombers fitness boss Dean Robinson by text.

SIGNPOST 2 – AUGUST 23, 2011

Dank texted Robinson stating “don’t forget how important Thymosin is. This is going to be our vital cornerstone next year”.

SIGNPOST 3 – OCTOBER 4-5, 2011

Text discussion of peptides between Dank and Robinson, including “peptides didn’t make the WADA list for next year”.

SIGNPOST 4 - FROM SEPTEMBER 13, 2011

Self-styled biochemist Shane Charter asked by Dank to source peptides, including Thymosin Beta-4.

SIGNPOST 5 – NOVEMBER 26

Charter flew to China to “order or source peptides” – though ASADA admitted he “embellished” trip account and inconsistencies over whether he returned with drugs.

SIGNPOST 6 – DECEMBER, 2011

Charter consistently stated to ASADA he placed a Thymosin Beta-4 order from GL Biochem in Shanghai.

SIGNPOST 7 – BANK RECORDS

Bank transfers and an interview with 3AW backed up order claims.

SIGNPOST 8 – JANUARY, 2012

Texts between Charter and compounding chemist Nima Alavi indicated peptides arrived. Alavi said in one: “I’ll get cracking”.

SIGNPOST 9 – WHAT’S NEXT

Charter messaged Dank asking what peptides he wanted next. Dank replied: “Thymosin Beta-4 then CJC-1295”. Charter passed message to Alavi, saying it was what “Steve wants next”.

SIGNPOST 10 – JNAUARY 12, 2012

Charter emailed Dank and Alavi a “cut and paste” document with instructions for preparing Thymosin Beta-4/TB500.

SIGNPOST 11 – JANUARY 18, 2012

Alavi dispensed 26 vials of Thymosin and seven vials of Hexarelin.

SIGNPOST 12 – ALAVI EVIDENCE

Alavi told ASADA investigators he believed he compounded Thymosin Beta-4.

SIGNPOST 13 – JANUARY 24, 2102

Alavi sent bottles labelled Thymosin to Eagle Analytical Services. Analysis firm replied: “Please enlighten us on what Hexarelin, CJC-1295 and Thymosin Beta-4 are.”

Eagle testing did not proceed, with company telling ASADA samples had been destroyed.

A mystery photograph taken by a secret identity “said to be around the end of the season, around Grand Final week”.

SIGNPOST 23 – JULY 5

Alavi created a list of peptides he could dispense - including Thymosin. List was sent to Melbourne FC.

SIGNPOST 24 – THE McKENZIE INTERVIEW

Dank indicated in an interview with journalist Nick McKenzie that he used T hymosin Beta-4 at Essendon – before correcting the reference to Thymomodulin.

SIGNPOST 25 – PLAYER EVIDENCE

Some Essendon players acknowledged taking Thymosin as late as April and July of 2012.

SIGNPOST 26 – ROBINSON EVIDENCE

Robinson told ASADA he believed he saw “Thymosin” in Dank’s fridge at Essendon and made no mention of Thymomodulin.

SIGNPOST 27 – DANK & ROBINSON

Dank was unsupervised at Essendon, except by Robinson. “They were able to do exactly what they had planned to do for the 2012 season”.
 
Hmm ASADA wanted Earl Sanders to appear against Dank,now that his case is going before the NRL tribunal wonder if he change his mind again and appear at CAS to get a substainal assistance reeducation...
 
Anyone care to hazard a guess as to who the player was that ASADA described as having an "unusual" recollection of the program, and therefore dismissed his account.

LOL Chip's contention was that ASADA's case looked OK from a distance but as soon as you got close it started to fall apart. While it's nice for you to summarise ASADA's case, what is actually more important is to look at what a mess the players lawyers made of these 'signposts'. I am just reading up on signpost 15 compact72 and it's almost comical. It is going to be interesting to look in detail at all the signposts, many of which have been such a strong part of the narrative in here for so long.

I did have to laugh in retrospect at how strident the critics in here were of the judges handling of the mass spec. data, even suggesting that they were old and didn't understand the science FFS. This sort of thing happens when people go off half cocked without seeing any of the evidence.
