I'm finding myself in a very similiar position. The problem (similiar with my Selwood issue) is that Gamble will probably average the most out of the forward rookies. The question is will he get a game.

I just traded out Chappy (yes I know ) for Gamble and traded one of my rookie midfielders to DalSanto.

I'll probably go back and forth till lockout tomorrow.

Bomber has said Gamble will play, so waiting till today's teams are released isn't going to tell you too much. :p
:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

mwahahahahaha... :p

Arghh.

Thing is I know I want Chapman in my team, he might go down to say 550k if he starts slow. Do i want to use a trade to get him.

On the other hand both Embley and Bradshaw have huge upside.

Arrrrgggghhhhhhhhh.

huge upside *potential*.

And even then, I don't rate Embley. I can see him repeating last year pretty easily...

Bradshaw on the other hand is a big risk.

Essentially what you've done is traded Embley up to Dal Santo - which I reckon is a good move, and Bradshaw down to gamble... also a good move. :)

Pre-season? One monster game, one not so good game...tough to get any real trend in only 2 games...
Av'd 116 last pre-season...came out with 102 and 71 in first 2 games of the real stuff. (88 in 3rd, but did he get injured during the game?)

Never really been a GUN...highest av. for any year is 88 (DT)...106 (SC) in 2005, but only thanks to two HUGE games, still had 9 games of 90 or less.

Now a sore neck, another sore neck, a sore knee...a man who's played ONE full season in 9 years of football...

Like I said, no doubt he'll bring in the cash, but will he score enough to be a keeper? Not sure.
Bit like Kosi last year, but with a far smaller upside (price-wise).

In my team specifically, the only way I'd get him in would be to drop Hayes (which I have been toying with)...but as we all keep saying, trades are valuable things...
Keep in mind how terrible Carlton were in 05 and 06 and he still averaged well. Very strong midfield now + high possession football style.

C'mon, you make it sound as though he's missed heaps of games. With the exception of last year he's played at least 20 games a season since 2001. That's not a bad record.

My point about his pre-season this year is that he's clearly fit and ready to play.

Sure, you're bucking the trend by not picking him and maybe that will pay off. But I reckon he'll be less like the Kosi of last year, more like Lappin.

STILLLLLLLLLL cant chose out of Griffen and Gibbs.
Im 1k off upgrading a mid priced forward to S. Johnson as well...
prob would lean 2wards griffen as not only as playing midfield, he will be playing as a rebounding half back flanker and has less comp in the midfield than gibbs. carlton has stevens, judd, murphy, simpson, carrazo, bentick and houlihan competing for the midfield spots so i reckon gibbs might be forced into the back pocket again for a while. griffen will spend more time in the mid imo and hence has the ability to rack up more points. imo its griffens time to shine

If Rie rips it up and chappy doesn't, that would be bad...
If Chappy does and they don't? What if Dal Santo doesn't?

if ifs and buts were candy and nuts, somethingsomething... :p
My worry is that this results in me having to upgrade one extra rookie. This assumes that Bradshaw goes on and averages 80+ ppg. Plus Gamble is not guareenteed a game every week. He might play two and get dropped. Damnit.
