lol you told me to keep Chapman and trade Brown but you have Brown insted of Chapman.

Derrrr.

This is just my opinion:

Drop Kreuzner to Hampson. They will score about the same, get the same game time and Hampson is 40k cheaper.

Ok you can either get Symes and have ~80k left over which you then use to upgrade McPhee to Shaw or Milburn.

OR

Get Symes and use your spare cash to upgrade Mattner to Johncock.
Haha yeah, the Brown - Chappy was a typo. I had made the trade but hadn't clicked update so Brown was on the team sheet.

The players in bold in your backline are too risky for my liking. Downgrade 2 of Hurn/Ellis/Roughead to a couple of first year players like Myers/S.Selwood or someone like Proud from Lions. Using money from downgrading in other areas may allow you to upgrade the other player to a better option.(see below)

Too many stars in the middle, downgrade one of them and look at someone like Cale Morton will play and score well. Money aved doing that means you could upgrade one of the players in bold from your defence as well.

Rucks are fine Bailey is a concern though may pay to look at Kruezer.

In the forwards the players underlined are the ones I would question. Jetta may or may not play and Thompson will still need time coming back from a knee reco. Dew is a much better option and if you have the cash maybe look at getting Hawkins with Nathan Ablett missing there is a spot for him on the Cats forward line.

I currently have Chapman in my team, but have heard he hasnt played any practise matches this year? (bit hard to keep up over in the UK).

Thoughts on Chapman+Dew/N.Thompson or Steve Johnson+Tredrea

Cheers

Hazey

ps - THANK GOD SC is back to pass my night shifts here in London!!!!
my opinion:

Chappy is a gun, maybe under a very slight injury cloud at the moment, should still be playin round 1. Stevie J can, in any round, get 150+, but can also just as likely get 20, smack someone around the head with a crowbar and get rubbed out for 15 weeks, or smoke some pot and end up in jail. So, Chappy safe choice, Stevie J could give u wins against the big guns in your league if he fires.

Dew : Old, fat, don't rate him
N Thompson : Risky because he is coming off an ACL
Tredrea : Hard to say, but i think too old and slow.

If you have the money for Tredrea, maybe you have the money for J Porplyzia, he is predicted by some (i read somewhere, someday that someone forked out $2000 on him for the Brownlow which may be a tad optimistic) to have a big impact this year, more midfield time, more stamina than the last few years, and had a good pre season.

This should probably be posted in a enw thread, but it won't let me create one yet.

Where I can find the AFL Gameday thing on the AFL website so I can check players scores for the NAB Cup etc or is there anywhere else I can dig them up?

Cheers

I think my team is looking pretty nice atm, although im unsure about my backline and forward line

BACKLINE= Cornes, Burgoyne, Gilbee, Bassett, Mattner, Bock, Ellis....Proud, Pfieffer

1) Bock, im thinking he will play farward line at adelaide this yr with the likes of welsh moving clubs.

2) i never rated Mattner in previous yrs, but all i have heard of him this yr is excellent news, and with malceski out he is almost a certainty in playing, is he a decent scorer, hoping 80 each week with 100 every nowq and then, or should i go sum1 else?

3) ellis, at that price....?

FORWARD= Brown, Johnson, Fev, Dew, Thompson, Jetta, Murphy(WB)....Rioli and Henderson

1) Fev definatly in 4 a big yr? with tht midfield providing him with the ball, should cum more frequently and alot better 4 him.

2) Dew and Thomspon both incredibly cheap, will they be playing, and will they both score on consistant basis with good scores(mind u they are my 5th and 6th forwards)

3) jetta, back from injury, touch more expensive then a rookie, will he play, is he a chance of a score of 100+ every now and then?

4) C.Jones? should i invest in him?

Any feedback, plz

Ps should i be looking to put C.Jones in the forward line or jst forget him?

Backline looks quite solid to me...

Forward line i think needs a bit of work:

Fev : Has a good midfield now, but i don't like picking the key position players, such as your traditional full forward. Can kick 10 on a day and get massive points, but can also be smashed by Glass, Rutten and Scarlett and get < 30.

Dew & Thommo : Very risky. I still don't think Dew is fit enough to get good TOG. Thomspon coming off an ACL, big risk!!!

Jetta : Probs won't play in the first round. And 100+ i wouldn't think so...as a guess, 80 would be max...

R Murphy : Too injury prone...if he recaptures form of 2005/06 (i cant remember which year he was the gun) then will be in for a big one. Also, i don't think Bulldogs are good enough this year for a Bulldogs forward to score big points.

From an eagles fan's viewpoint.
WHat are McNamara's chances of a round 1 spot?
I'm asking myself that same question.

I've heard a few people here and one of my mates whos been following the eagles closely in the pre-season that McNamara has a really good chance of playing in round 1.

However if Masten is being considered, and he has been in good form in the WAFL, then I don't know how many rookies the Eagles will play. Then if Masten plays well it will be harder for others to break into the eagles midfield.

Gah.

B.Johnson > S.Johnson

Johnno has been putting up the numbers year after year, SJ has had one good season and while he does have a great midfield feeding him I'm not convinced.

Myers > Hansen

Tough one, flip of the coin job but I just think Myers is more likely to play out the season.

Hayes > Foley

For the little bit extra you get a gun who puts up big numbers week in week out. His 07 average is compromised thanks to 2 games when he came off injured early. However Hayes is injury prone.
