Tough one. I think Cox is basically a lock cause he's a midfielder as well as a ruckman.

Pavlich > Brown cause Pav's more consistent and his bad games are better than Brown's.

My advice is try and save some cash and get Cox and Pavlich, if you can't go with Brown and Cox.
Damn Rucks!!! I managed to save some cash and get Cox AND Pav, but that meant i had to downgrade one of my guns in the forward line to well, a damn good player but could be better. I did have my 3 guns, Pav, B Johnno and Chappy, but now i've had to go with 2 guns, Pav and B Johnno, and break down the other spot to Kosi (considering gettin Deledio, maybe N Brown - opinions???)

My new side, thoughts and concerns would be greatly appreciated:

Backs: P.Burgoyne, A.McLeod, S.Fisher, G.Birchall, B.Symes, H.O'Brien, X.Ellis
Emg: D.Pfeiffer, S.Selwood

Mids: G.Ablett, K.Cornes, L.Hodge, J.Sherman, R.Douglas, B.Prismall
Emg: D.O'Keefe, B.Ebert

Rucks: S.King, T.Simmonds
Emg: M.Kreuzer, J.Meesen

Fwds: J.Brown, S.Johnson, L.Franklin, A.Didak, J.Porplyzia, M.Le Cras, N.Thompson
Emg: L.Hansen, J.Sellar

My only real concerns are if Simmonds is injured what to do, and a lack of depth in the midfield.
Forward line has three 100+ players in there with other with the potential to do so.
Backs are the same.
I'd like more 100+ players in the midfield, not sure Sherman will turn up like he did a couple of seasons ago.
He might be my McIntosh though, picked him start of the season last year and never looked back.

If you're already posted your team post it again and I'll give you my 2 cents.

Having Cox is pretty important though, also I'm not a fan of N.Brown or Delidio personally.

IMO - Way too much money in the middle, downgrade Ablett, Cornes and Hodge...look at Cross, he is SC gun and only in the 550's.

H O'Brien is not a big points scorer, maybe downgrade to a rookie and spend money elsewhere...

Forward line is very hit and miss...u could end up with week where S Johnson and Buddy only get 50's, then your screwed.

I think in the rucks u either go all out and get Cox cos he simply the best, or u have to have Frasier, White, Ottens or maybe McIntosh. Steven King is not good enough to be your number 1 ruck!!!

all i know is tht mcnamara, henderson, proud, and seller are the rookies of my choosing tht will be unsure about starting rd 1, ur thoughts?

i wanna get rid of treadrea but shit all money, who at his price should i replace him with? or less so i can put money elsewhere?

i thought my squad could potentially make 2200, is it full of risks? that why? wat area needs improving? who should be downgraded 2 help out the 'need work' area?

this is driving me insane, my team has changed so much

In bold are the players I would reconsider. Both your backup rucks should get games so you should be ok if Simmonds goes down, unless its a long term injury and you have to use a trade.

C Cornes, L Gilbee, S Fisher ,G Birchall, B Waters, B Symes, then 1 of either S Selwood, D Pfeiffer, S Thompson (NTH) these will change when round 1 teams come out i imagine

L Hayes, D Cross, S Thompson (ADE), N Stevens, R Dyson, R Palmer, T Tuck (EMG), S Valenti (EMG)

D Cox, T Simmonds, Hampson (EMG), Cartledge (EMG)

M Pavlich, B Johnson, C Jones, J Kosi, B Hall, J Porps, L Hansen, C Rioli (EMG), J Morton (EMG)

Don't worry about the emergencies at the moment, they are very likely to change come round 1. I would like to upgrade Birchall/Symes but simply cant find the loose change to get them up to the Heath Shaw style gun.

BAck - fisher may not get those big scores with goddard cuming back
-Waters had a great yr '06, dissapeared down the SC scorers in '07

Mid - I think Dal Santo will be a better choice from the Saints, alot more effective then hayes i think, disposalk wise.

For - i like it alot, 5 consistant players, 1 rookie, and BBB who is a big risk but if he comes good u will be looking at some good cashflow and ranknings.

Ruck - same as mine so hopefully its good

Yeah, i'm not sure about Fisher either, i could possibly bump him up to H Shaw.

I'd like Dal Santo, but bit expensive and i think Hayes will be just as good. Remember last year he was comin off a knee and still did well, and i think in 06 he was in, if not very close to, the top 5 scorers for the year. Plus Dal Santo will get number 1 tagger every week, Hayes wont.

BBB a risk, he killed me last year, but he was playin with a niggle, this year i have reports he is fresh as a daisy. Could be dangerous this year, i say get on him!!!

lol you're not wasting my time, I just think its stupid asking the same questions over and over again when they have been very recently discussed.

McNamara is 50/50.

Proud should play.

Henderson should play.

Sellar is 50/50.

This weekends games may or may not give a clearer picture.

IMO a player like Jetta is a better selection than a Tredrea. I want Jetta on my bench, just can't find the lose change.

My side so many queries

B C.Cornes, Gilbee, Bassett, Symes, Hurn, Nicoski, Proud Em Taylor Pfeiffer

C Dal Santo, Ablett, Cross, Johnstone, Reilly, Stevens Em Palmer, Ebert

R Cox, Simmonds Em Meesen, Hampson

F Pavlich, J Brown, B Johnson, Porplyzia, Dew, Thompson, Hansen Em Rioli, Tippett

Question: Have i loaded up 2 many potential 'captains' which i should downgrade and add to my middle tier players? What changes should/could i make here? Is it any good?

I have been poor in SC in the past but think this is the year i can lift my game.

Hayes is a gun and is at a bargain price. If you're feeling dangerous you could start another rookie in your midfield and downgrade either S.Thompson or R.Dyson. Or downgrade S.Thompson to someone like Couglan and use the spare cash upgrading Fisher and Symes.

I don't know, just thinking out loud. :D

ripitup - yes he wil play! with goood avg 2!

W/R - dalsanto and hayes will both get great scores, tagged or not tagged, the no1 tagger will be rotated on and off each person, depending on the opposition coach, they are both ball magnets, i jst think dal santo exposes of the ball in a way that SC will acknowledge more then hayes...put it this way, if they both get 10touches in a game, Dal santo will walk out with 100SC and hayes will walk out with 80SC. thts jst from wat i hav read in the paper on the net and, i jst get this feeling wen i watch them play. in the end 50% of teams will hav dal and the other 50% will have hayes. either way they r both captain material.

I like that team actually. The only hole I can see is your backline. Basset is coming back from injury, Nicoski is struggling for form and Proud may or may not get a game.

From memory Hayes racks up alot of tackles which give you some nice points in SC.

Considering the price when you're comparing Hays and DST you can't go past Hayes.

whiskers - i had dew and thompson about a week back, now i hav neither.
they r both risks, dew-slow and old, good composure and experience though. thompson i think jst got lucky a couple years back, he is comin of acl so risky, i think C jones will kick all of kangas goals this yr.

they r cheap players, this helps u with getting big guns, but i suggest if u hav 2 keep 1 then do so but dont keep em both!

That looks to me like a pretty solid team. Suggest maybe downgrading Thompson or Dew to a rookie and using the spare $$$'s to upgrade Bassett, Symes, Hurns or Nicoski. Other than that, i like it...

Argggh! God this is frustrating.
I've spent ages trying to perfect my HUN SuperCoach team, lots of research and everything.

Just then, I decided to sign up for the AdelaideNow SuperCoach for a bit of fun. I picked my team in under 5 minutes with no real strategy.

Comparing both now, the AdelaideNow team is stronger then my HUN team in nearly every position..:(

Just puttin this out there...

Could Stokes (of Geelong) rack up some points this year. He had an awesome finals series and the pre-season game against Melbourne he he was fantastic. Maybe he could get a run up the ground. He's not going to break into the middle of the Cats outfit, but possibly play up on a HFF or Wing? Maybe doesn't have the stamina?

The question you have to ask yourself when picking mid level players who could explode and become elite is the risk involved. Will Stokes spend more time in the middle considering Geelong's midfield and/or will he keep up his form? I'd say no but others will say yes.
