The Bulldog Team of the Century fullback was coming down from Mildura to play with Richmond. Richmond officials were going to meet him at Spencer Street Station so the Bulldog officials went To North Melbourne station, found him and took him to the Western Oval. Meanwhile the Richmond officials searched the train when it arrived at Spencer Street, but to know avail.
The rest they say is history. He played in the 1954 Premiership team and was named fullback in our team of the century. I believe the most goals Coleman kicked on him was three, when Coleman averaged 5.48 goals a game and was beating everyone else.
