As for you not caring, you don't have to care and nobody's trying to make you. That said, your presence in this thread is at odds with your suggesting of not caring.
Not sure if you're illiterate or just choose not to read the post above yours.

I saw.

You saw it in your newsfeed. You still went to the effort of clicking it, reading it, then choosing to reply to people about it.

None of which you *had* to do.
How was I supposed to know this was on the woman's "footy" board? Think with your brain mate haha

Errr, it is your title. You're the OP and you wrote that title, didn't you? You could have written anything as the title. 'Here's Proof That Some Of Us Absolutely Do Want To Watch Women's Sport', for example. And exactly what didn't carry your approval or disapproval, the title or the content of your post? YOU posted it. Let it go.
It isn't his title, it's the title of the article he posted for discussion.

The thread title would be disproven if it had said "here's proof everyone wants to watch women's sport", which it didn't say. "We" isn't a cover-all term, it assumes a collective of people which you can opt in or out of at your will.

As for you not caring, you don't have to care and nobody's trying to make you. That said, your presence in this thread is at odds with your suggesting of not caring.

I'm not really sure what you're here to debate then because you've done nothing to dispute the accuracy of the OP - people do want to watch women's sport (and others don't, and that's fine).

The problem it seems is many people thinking the world is this black and white place where everyone fits neatly into one box or another and that statements made by anyone are somehow absolutes, not in any way open to interpretation. There's significant complexity to what the OP posted which is worth discussion and debate but it seems some are more interested in just being contrarian.
If you had read the WHOLE thread you'd see that I indeed have done something to dispute the accuracy of the OP.

I'll say it again; he chose the title, typed it out and posted it. He could just have easily typed 'Here's Proof That Some Of Us Absolutely Do Want To Watch Women's Sport'.

Says it at the top and bottom of the page. The thread title would probably be a giveaway too ;)
Well sorry I'm not an Artificial Intelligence which can determine exactly on what board and thread I am on at any given time. I see the thread on recent activity on the BF homepage, I read the title, see that it is obvious bullshit trying so painfully hard to make women's footy seem relevant. Good day :)

Why would he bother? Just to satisfy pedants? Let's face it, if your hanging your hat on this, nothing is really going to make a difference.

I see the difference as a whole in terms of viewing habits between men and women's sport being that yes there is an audience for certain women's sports, but only at an individuals team preference rather than a blanket watching habit.

An NBA fan will watch almost any NBA games. A WNBA fan will tend to only watch a specific team.

I believe the same would apply for the AFL/AFLW.

So what you're actually saying is you do care. Got it!

I think there is a proportion of 'AFLW' fans that follow all of it, but I doubt it's enough to hang a pro sport off. I am also doubtful that many are sports fans per se, and are not going to drop of once it's no longer fashionable.

The bread and butter of the league will be the club supporter that extends that support to the women's team.

I'm not on my high horse. YOUR title is YOUR title or did that feminist (look at the name of the site - womensagenda.com.au) magazine post in here under your name?. Now, if you want to use my comments in context, I was replying to a poster that said "What I don't understand is why those who don't watch it feel the need to tell everyone and wear it like some kind of badge?" and pointed him at the OP. Whether that OP is yours or not (and it is) it's someone 'telling everyone and wearing it like some kind of badge'.

You also need to take a look at my original comments and use them in context. My original point was as stated above, which wasn't that the thread title should be changed.

BTW, we see thread titles altered all the time (daily) in here to better reflect the discussion.

Regardless, it was STILL wrong.

Move on, discuss the content. And if you all you are here for is to troll womens footy threads then go elsewhere.

Good for them but I cant watch a lot of womens footy. Its horrible to watch. I honestly think I will begin to take more interest as West Coast get a team in AFLW but even then minimal.

Womens cricket slightly better.

Its good people support it though.

It appears the Eagles are encouraging their supporters to get behind--
A/ Their WAFL team in 2019
B/ Their Womens team in 2020
CEO Trevor Nesbit has hinted that that this will be done by letters to their 80,000 members.

I was into the 1st season as I had a family memeber involved but have still kept a not so close eye on it this year. The quality improvement is definitely evident. Not convinced many people watch it but I don’t think that’s to be expected. It’ll be a slow burn to develop into anything close to the Men’s.
