I'm into anything with Jon English. He's my hero.

I loved it when Betty put the white out on 'Mr Kellys' computer screen when she made an error.

Yeah, totally agree, but "Recent"? The show was released in the early 90's, wasn't it?Originally posted by coxon

I think that was part of it's appeal.Maybe it's so bad it's good?
Sarah Monahan (original Jenny) has alleged that she was molested by a member of the cast/crew. The person the allegations are aimed at has not been named, due to legal reasons. What are these allegations btw?
Totally. Would of been dead and buried, new allegations obviously have inspired this thread. Thing that really $hits me is I never new or heard of anyone called Nudge before that show enlightened us on the box but now I know 5 boofheads called Nudgelol, what do you mean by "it hasn't aged well". That assumes it was once good which is completely incorrect.
I haven't seen it in years but i remember it being shocking. Could be the worst sitcom ever made.
Maybe it's so bad it's good?
edit: just read the first page of this thread and i'm utterly speechless. I cant believe people rated it![]()

That's why Chris Trusswell came out straight away and said "Before everyone gets ahead of themselves, it's not me!"I know these are serious allegations and probably they would be proven in a court, but unless she is going to name names, I don't think it is fair. It casts a huge shadow over every male who worked on the show. Name the guilty party - the shame of that alone will be significant punishment.
You're being a bit hard on Family Ties don't you think, it wasn't that bad.![]()

Jenny's testimonial is pretty decent.

You probably should read up on the history on the show if you want make such outlandish claims. It's pretty clear if you see the clues. The show ended after they were asked to leave the show...and some characters leaving means the end for the show....
Particularly main characters
I doubt there would be this much attention if it wasn't a member of the cast.
It's pretty obvious.

Ugh, what a terrible story, gives me the creeps.
As for the actual show, yes, I grew up watching it and thought it was hilarious back then.. but oh my lord how it has aged. So many shows just seem really unfunny and tacky when you re-watch them again.
Make of that what you will.IMDB said:
- "During the show's original run, the young female cast members Simone Buchanan (Debbie Kelly) and Sarah Monahan (Jenny Kelly) often had problems with obsessive fans following them around, and - in Sarah's case - a stalker who would send roses to her school when she was only nine or ten years old."
- "Paul Smith (Simon Kelly) was one of two cast members to be fired from the series. The other cannot be named for legal reasons."
- "When Robert Hughes (Martin Kelly) recorded his final episode, cast and crew had planned a farewell party in his honour, but were unable to find him after the show, as Robert had left the studio immediately after taping his final scene."
- "Around the time he left the show in late 1993, Robert Hughes was involved in a court case against another 'Hey Dad..!' cast member. Rachael Beck (Samantha Kelly) departed the series shortly after this happened."
- "Robert Hughes is the only key cast member to repeatedly refuse any involvement in reunions or retrospectives of the series."
