I agree with many cases of not 'dobbing people in'. If I was on the set and saw Robert Hughes taking drugs I wouldn't dob him in. Kiddy fiddling is REPREHENSIBLE, though. In my mind, there simply IS no other option than to go to the authorities in a case such as this.

I'd risk losing my job to expose a paedophile. For sure.
So you think Laws should be applied, but only the ones you agree with it?

Are you fking kidding me?

I most certainly have a preference for which Laws i take seriously. It's outrageous to assume littering should be taken as seriously as child molestation.

So because i don't expect people to dob in every litter bug i have no right to expect them to dob in pedophiles... No really, is that what you're saying?

he could have at least told her parents.

You raise some valid points, but I don't have time right now to fully respond. But with regards to her parents, first of all, her father had already passed away, and I saw one report that her mother was on set. Was it all the time, sometimes, or just after the allegations became known, who knows. Is Sarah's Mum was around, then it is curious as to why the police were not notified.

im guessing those heroes who say they would of gone straight to the police have probaly never worked a day in there life and dont realize how big the tv show was back in its day. If he went on his own accord to the police behind the tv shows back and nothing happened then he gets fired and with the politics, powerful and influencial people in the industry he would struggle to get another job again. if the same thing happened to you guys you would go to your boss, you cant fool us into saying you would go straight to the police with no evidence and run the risk.

and to those scum who LOL at him saying he has lost his faith in hummanity well i hope you enjoy and get a lot of amusement out of walking into a room to find your daughter getting touched by a old man one day.

On any day of the 10 years i've been working, if i saw my boss molesting a kid i would confront him/her and drag their arse to the police station, without a second thought for my career. I do not think I'm a hero. I think this should be the default reaction for all human adults. Anyone who wouldn't confront and dob for the sake of their career are selfish beyond my comprehension.

Parents, cops, WHOEVER! Her parents not being available is totally irrelevant!

So as far as you are concerned the only real issue in your mind is 'degrees' of law abiding.
There are some laws that you will abide by and others you won't - and it is you who makes that distinction because you arbitrarily decide what are good laws and what are not so good laws.

So why should others do anything differently, including the person who is the subject of this thread?

Yes and so do you if you had the guts to be sincere. I don't arbitrarily decide on laws to follow. I don't adhere to laws using eenie meanie miny mo, I'm chrystal clear that i do not want to inflict harm on others and they're the laws i take very seriously.

He hasn't done any differently, hence the pickle he's in.

Firstly what did I say that makes you think I wasn't being sincere?
And secondly I make mistakes just like anyone else and if those mistakes mean there is some retribution, then so be it.

My point is this, if some of us want to cherry pick the laws we will or won't follow, how is it possible to criticise others that deliberately break the law?

So it's all or nothing in your world? Apathy or militant across the board.

That's fine (not really) dawson. However, I am repelled and angry by pedophiles much more than say someone who doesn't indicate before changing lanes.

Prehaps they should have changed the name from 'Hey Dad' to 'Dirty Dad' or better yet 'Hey Dirty Dad' lol.

No.... Really I don't think the dad really made the show it was the other cast members such as Nudge, Betty and Ben which made the show. They could have easily replaced him and hired a respectful dad.

I want to know how mch Ben was paid for that interview.

And I realised I severely underrated his acting skills after watchint him describe the victim in the present tense for the 20 minutes interview before lobbing in the fact at the end that he hadnt spoken to her since the show ended.

He really has put himself on the shortlist to be an extra on that shit channel 10 cop show that appears after 11pm during summer.

Pedo Dad..:thumbsu:

If not rename the show atleast redo the show entrance. Kids should all be at the table asking "Whats for Dinner" with Robert Hughes coming out in a apron saying kiss the chef saying "Sausage and meatballs". "Again" the kids all moan at once. Its subtle and humerous

Anyway if this guy doesnt want to be accused of being a pedo atleast get rid of the pedo glasses. I think society has all but worked out. The thicker the glasses the higher the chance of paedophilia occuring

And I guess the father of the young girl in question, who is possibly finding out now through an ACA interview that his daughter was molested 17 years ago has two reasons to have lost faith in humanity.

Her father is dead. The girl who played Jenny was the sole bread winner of the family at the time when she was on the show. Hence the "Extra pressure" to stay on it. Too much pressure on a poor kid if you ask me..

I want to know how mch Ben was paid for that interview.
.

It's reported in HS today $100,000.

And also extremely weird the fact he is represented by Hughe's wifes agency to go on the show?!?!?!?

This whole case is seriously giving me the creeps.. I grew up with that show, watching it with mum, dad, brothers.... will never watch it again. (not that i was really planning to anyway ;)) Robert Hughes and that sumg smile on ACA the other week, hope he has in day in court and that smug arrogant smile is wiped off his face. :thumbsd:

In our household my dad banned us from watching Hey Dad!, Neighbours or Home and Away.

Watching Nightmare on Elm St when I was 5 years old was fine, as was listening to Derek and Clive on vinyl, or Eddie Murphy's Delirious on VHS, but no deluded Aussie "family" bullshit.

Looking back, I can only respect him for that.

+1

Seeing him in that photo with his hand practically down her pants and with that insane smile on his face makes me sick.

Look I to hope this ends up in Court as that is the proper place for it

But actually you can't see that - Its all subliminal conditioning by ACA.

Does anyone believe Miss Corporate Deltra Goodram would come forward if she was the alleged guest star to have been felt up?

No, and said as much as soon as I heard she was a guest.....same with Naomi Watts..

Neither will want to be involved, and their management teams sure as hell wont...they are too big, and might tarnish the image:rolleyes:.....tacky stuff you know:rolleyes::mad:

These sort of attitudes are why child abuse has gone on and on since time began..

Just think of ship captains back in the early centries, with their "cabin boys"....to be at their beck + call day + night, to warm the bed etc on the long lonely voyages........yeah right!!.........but it was an accepted thing........who knows what these kids were subjected too..

People, even though suspicious, turn a blind eye.....its easier..

I hope this creep Hughes is strung up by the b#### and left to suffer....we don't know what he's been up too over there, I believe he has grandchilren....hope they are safe..
