You inferred that Hird wasn't as friendly & accomodating as Carey, based on 1 fan who said she wouldn't get the same reaction from Hird, even though she admitted she had never approached him.

I dont think that it is any secret that James hird is not very apporachable, I could tell you all the things I have been told by Bomber supporters if you like. I can tell you about the day he was nearly two hours late turning up to sign autographs for some kids and then ehen he got there he didnt even speak to them. And who will forget when his wife was being interviewed on the news on GF eve last year and he sent someone out to tell her "James wants you to come in now", even Tania was taken aback.

Thanks for your reply Choppyboard, I have seem some really stupid North supporters in my time (Laz), but it seems so far that you aren't one of them.
And of course North have had a superior team over most of last decade, any old fool could see that.

Joel,

Give me time and I will convince you that I don't know what I'm talking about. All clubs have stupid narrow minded supporters, some more than others. (Obvious line here would be to refer to Collingwood but since you have given me a compliment I shall refrain)Thankfully the footy's starting in a few weeks.

Its ok! The only reason (most of the time) that you will get a narrow minded response from a Collingwood supporter is because of the passion they have for the club, and the SAME derogatory remarks that seem to keep coming. Just don't generalise!

Magpie Gal 19,

The point of getting into finals is this - if a team wins 3 finals (Essendon) or 4 finals (Adelaide) they get to call themselves - xxxx Premiers.
(I know 1990 was last century, but in reality it wasn't that long ago.

SANDIE - Sorry to come in on you and Daphne re Hird. A couple of years ago, a radio station, MMM had Pig, Jimmy and Rooboy (Dunstall, Hird & ?) It became a running joke between Rooboy and Jimmy that he did'nt sign autographs. Rooboy teased him often, because an Essendon supporter took her neice or ? to training and Hird brushed the child off. It is well known Carey is excellent with kids. Maybe Hird has mended his ways.

JOEL - Did you manage to read Saturday's Herald-Sun re Buckley. He is 28yrs old and only now he knows that their are "other things in the world, besides football"...and he will try to be a better captain..my grandfather was critcial, (person) my father was critical and I am too critcial."

Perhaps I will return your umm...compliment.

You Idiot!!!

And yes, North had injured players in both games (Essendon - Carey played CHB). Not an excuse but a reason.
