Everybody knows a place in their local area which they claim is the best shop in town. This is the thread to brag about them and recommend to others in the area.

Share your shop locations in this thread with a short review.

I'll start off with King Of The Roast...

111 Clarinda rd Clayton Sth

I normally don't take photos of my meals but today was an exception.

King of the roast makes the best roast meat rolls in Melbourne (seriously). They jam pack a roll with the meat of your choice and smother it in gravy. You can get roast vegetables in the roll as well for no extra cash. The guy doesn't ever use a carving knife because all of his meats are so tender they fall apart when he grabs at it with a set of tongs.

It's located in a really out of the way area and is the only shop on the block. The shop looks a bit run down and outdated. I reckon the guy would make a killing if he was on a main strip somewhere.

Anyone in the general vicinity should get down and try this guys rolls. They are that good.

This place has opened up the new Marriott Waters shopping centre down in the Berwick/Cranbourne area.
Gets very busy Friday & Saturday nights and for good reason - their food is amazing.
Anyone in the area or driving through should call in.

not necessarily 'hidden' as the place has a bit of a profile already.

can of coke and a burger with the lot in the park when hungover is the nuts.

going into this place is like going back in time.

I've heard of this joint before but haven't made the trip to try it out. Think it rates pretty highly in the 'best burgers in Melbourne' polls they run every couple of years.

Chicken Spot in the Lynwood/Ferndale area of Perth, on Metcalfe rd next to the tavern there. Great chips, pretty damn good chicken roll too.

Bimbos pizza is great value - i used to get the haloumi pizza.
Dannys burgers is good
Viet rose in fitzroy, Lam lams in northcote and Pho in preston are good for Vietnamese (my favourite cuisine)
Wild yak in northcote has prices from the 90s
Pizza farro is my favourite pizza / pasta place in the northcote / thornbury area (surpassing for the love of pizza and pizza mein lieb) because they use spelt wheat. Their pasta dishes are delicious as well
High st Preston is great for different types of food, you can get great dumprings, Vietnamese, indian, middle easter/turkish/lebenese etc and it's all very cheap.

damn now i'm hungry

I went to King of the Roast once, didn't buy a roll just some meat and vegies. The roast tastes a bit weird to me, couldn't quite put my finger on it but I haven't been back.
