Since when is Thomas soft? He may look like a girl but he is a great player.

Couldn't split these 2, I might make my decision at the end of next year.

Thomas' X factor gets him over the line in my books. I think he'll be the type of player that can consistanly lift the pies when they need it.

Higgins is going to be pretty good, just falls behind Thomas in that area.

This is why bigfooty polls are esentially pointless. There are certain clubs (like Carlton or Collingwood) who are always going to be voted against by plenty of people regardless of the poll question. It's a joke that Higgins is in front of Thomas in this poll and as a Carlton supporter I'm not afraid to say it.

If Higgins has half the career Thomas is going to have he'll have done very well indeed.

Both good young players, but I really like the look of Higgins and he wins it for mine. Is he likely to move in to the midfield as he gets older?

Dale Thomas, yes I'm probably being bias.
Thomas contributes every game.
Not saying that Higgins isn't a good player, because he is.

Stupid poll..
Shaun Higgins is way to inconsistant for me..mind you he can be good but he doesnt do it often enough!
Dale Thomas Lifts on the big occasions and higgins hides in his shell

What crap. All the Doggies bashers are making this way too close. Thomas has outside "soft" flair and can take a big grap, but is not in Higgins league.
Higgins comfortably.

Thomas easy.
Higgins is a good finisher but I haven't seen much else of his game.
Thomas has an excellent all-round game. I hate Collingwood but I'd take Thomas over Higgins any day of the week.

The whole 'Thomas is soft' theory is ridiculous.

I'd ask anyone to give me an example of when he's pulled out of a contest. He NEVER does. he always pouts his body on the line.

thomas' consistency, x-factor and game winning ability surely would have him infront.
ive seen a fair bit of higgins. Excellent foot skills, pace and good hands but for mine Thomas would be way infront.

And you have? How bout you feel us inon your little secret.
I played footy with him back in u/16's. He hasnt shown what hes capable of yet and plays his best footy in the midfield.
As your a pies fan, dont get me wrong. Im not saying Thomas is s*** and right at this moment Thomas has shown more promise than Higgins and there both great players but im just saying to be wary of Higgins in the future.:thumbsu:

Against Melbourne last year he was hit hard by a Melbourne player (I think it was Bate), it obviously shook him up because he was pretty ordinary afterwards, however it showed that he does put his body on the line.

I like how he plays and would love to have him in the red and the blue.

If that was in the queens birthday match, there were about 20 other Collingwood players playing ordinary too.

People would say he's weak because it did shake him up. Most people with sense will say he's tough because even though it did shake him up, he kept going and didn't complain once.

I used that example to show that he does put his body on the line

You clearly hadn't seen enough of Higgins.

And you didn't take into account the fact that the Dogs player was bottom age and had more upside after having his fair share of injuries as a junior.

Funny to see Pies fans defending Thomas, yet he accused a Dogs fans of being biased...

More upside than Thomas? You're having a laugh.

Thomas has had the better career prior to this season.
