It's obvious the GFC was totally dissatisfied with this years performance
Our 2nd half fade outs and long injury list are not acceptable
I like that the GFC is looking to improve all areas
New fitness gurus will be one of many ways the club will revitalize things
Everything... fitness diet strength speed agility recovery .... hopefully improved

No stern left untoned

Back to the high performance, which apparently is enhanced by cheese and vegemite dangers, but anyway, I hope the reaction is not a knee jerk one.
That being - we faded thereforre we must beat them senseless for as long as possible to get the fitter.

Let that play out and yo think our injury list was bad this year….

Hopefully the new direction will be one of a blend of everything…..

It needs to be right as we've seen the results of wrong…. Pies anyone?

I think it's safe to say that none of the cats boys who use social media (twitter, instagram) are on the paleo diet...

My experience with people on this diet is that part of the eating program involves mentioning they are on #paleo at every opportunity they can
And I have seen none of this from our boys

I started on this about 6 weeks ago - http://www.marksdailyapple.com/the-book/the-primal-blueprint/ .Cut out grains and sugar with an 80/20 approach to it and have stripped body fat very quickly and gained a heap of strength.

Dropped about 9kg in that time and in the best shape I've been in since moving to Melbs 2 years ago (from the GC and was in the water surfing nearly every day beforehand). The noticeable differences for me though is I feel much more satiated, not craving food and not having that afternoon energy slump. Used to get really moody when I was hungry, can easily skip a meal now and not feel drained of energy because my body isn't relying on carbs as an energy source which needs constant feeding. Couldn't recommend it enough. Heaps of protein and natural fats supplemented with carbs from a lot of veg and some fruit.

Agree with the approach or not, it's still healthier than probably 90% of the population who regularly eat a lot of processed, fried, take-away and sugary crap food.
So you can't even have raw sugar?

Let's dust off Loris Bertolacci

Sure there were a few legal actions taken out by both sides last time but we need to increase our nude nutt numbers

That's the big thing with diets; compliance. I think Paleo's justification is complete gibberish that happens to correlate with a lot of what mainstream scientific dietetics is starting to advocate (thus it often hits the mark but for the wrong reasons) but what I always say is that the best diet is the one you can comply with. We can argue till the cows come home about what the optimal diet is but at the end of the day if you have made marginal improvements, those marginal improvements are to be celebrated.

It's not that I can't have this or can't have that. As I said, Mark's approach and I agree is taking an 80/20 approach to things, otherwise it's unrealistic and you'll just beat yourself up over it and throw it all away. I'll occasionally have a sugar in my coffee or in cooking but generally not, I never really ate much sugar before anyway. I don't feel like I'm forcing myself not to eat something because I don't feel hungry or crave like I did before when eating more bread, pasta, sugar etc. And if I feel like eating something like that a couple of times a week, it's ok.

Yeah, it will always be argued because there isn't necessarily one correct answer. I hate labelling it as 'Paleo', the way I eat is definitely not an 'Atkins' diet. The way I see it, I've just cut out 80% of the grains and sugar from my diet and have replaced it with more natural fats, veg and fruit which provide MUCH more nutritional value and more than enough fibre, while slightly upping my protein intake as well.

Just reported that Ess are to pay Dean Robinson a million dollars....he'll come cheap!
Well he already lives in Geelong and has had success before

Just don't let him near the medicine cabinet
