Im assuming no spoilers required.

I do it a lot vs calling stations at 2/3, you know, people cant fold a full house in Hold Em theory. But it comes down to whether he thinks Galfond is a calling station or not... I probably make that bet to given how tilty it looked that Galfond was, plus Durrr had said that he had extra chips for Galfond if he needed to rebuy. It might sound dumb, but I have folded in the past because I didnt have a rebuy on me at the casino or at a home game...

The bigger bet might look more like a bluff given that the turn checked through. Does 1/3 pot get paid off three times as often as pot? I'm not so sure.

Galfond's fold vs Eli was pretty impressive.

It was a pretty good fold, but in reality Galfond didnt beat a lot of Elezra's 3bet (or was it a 4bet, cant remember) range. It could have been a shifty check behind on the turn with aces to get paid by a king such as KQ on the river. He loses to AA and KK and on the river QQ, and chops only with AK. But AK IMO bets the turn because AK is freerolling KQ and KJ hands with an ace on the river on the K99 9 board...

Do any of you watch the UK version of "The Big Game"?

It's pretty good. Feldman, FullFlush, Ike, Tony G, Viffer, Laak, Channing, Romanello, etc.

There is basically like 25+ players and the game lasts for about 96 hours, I think, and players come in and out. They also have an eviction every few hours where someone gets voted to leave the table and someone new joins.

They don't play as big as HSP or anything. $50/$100 with a mandatory straddle and they play the seven/deuce game for $500 per player so it makes for an interesting dynamic.

They also rotate commentators with Jesse May and some other UK guy who I don't know the name of. He seems to be a pretty knowledgeable player so it makes for good commentary, even with Jesse's spazbursts and *ed logic commentary. Letharass also commentates for a bit.

During the episode I watched today Viffer and Channing both were pretty deep and then ended up getting it all on the flop of 3s 4x 9s. Viffer had 99 and Channing 44.

The pot was like 70k and as Viffer said, "Run it twice?" and Channing said "No, once" as he was pissed off and just wanted to get it over with.

And then.. bang, hits the 1 outter on the river to scoop the 70k pot. I mean, getting 1 outtered at 2/3 for a few hundred bucks hurts.. I can't imagine what the poor bastard would have been feeling here.

Yeah, I watch it and overall its actually pretty good. Its not high enough to make people play like weaktight fish apart from the Durrr's and Iveys etc, its fairly social and relaxed, and there are a lot of different styles. Viffer is pretty funny.

I fully agree with Channing in regards to the running it twice, three times, etc... It doesnt change your equity, and the amount of time they waste asking questions, running out the board and possibly chopping the pot is time that could be playing more pots.

Overall I have liked the games of Channing, Trickett and Viffer so far. Channing because he responded so well to Viffer by being slighly more passive then usual, which keeps his range wider, which when added to using position etc... gives him a slight edge vs Viffer in particular. Trickett was pretty solid in general and Viffer is just great to watch.

Romanellos fold of AQ is terrible given his turn call vs Viffer. He must know that Viffer is going to fire a big river bet when he bets the turn. IIRC the board was 773-5, then the river was a 7, which is the perfect card for him. As such he really should be c/c to induce and fairly snap calling. Either that or fold the turn.

The one outer was pretty gross but the hand itself was standard. Channing is miles ahead of Viffs range in that spot, and Viff has the nuts at that time so he isnt folding the flop obv.

I've been downloading all of the PartyPoker videos (Premier League, World Open), just haven't watched them.

Although whenever it's on tv, I usually tune in.
