I love seeing the club and membership grow like this. The only thing that annoys me when playing at Skilled as the crowd is still relatively quite it seems. I love cheering and it annoys me that we dont make more noise!
We have the best home ground advantage of any team in the AFL. We should be making it unbearable for the opposition and their supports. Don't need to be crude and nasty, just cheering our team on more would help so much. As soon as we play like crap, the crowd is silent. The side needs the crowd to get them going!
Im tipping 32k membership if we can beat Melb on Saturday. I wonder if the marketing dept. will be given permission to promote the Ablett brothers for the 2006 campaign?
KP is not moron park. There have been efforts to artificially turn up the audio over the years but each suporter group, each ground has its own character. Its why the Ablett thing was so loud when Gary to Nathan happend for goal #1. We expect more than just winning , we expect a quality of football,we expect the intangible,we crave the ethereal, we hope for the exceptional.
Some say winning is everything but its not,Its a hell of lot but not everything. If I had to watch the tripe like we played against Richmond everyweek, I'd suggest one would get mighty peeved.(mind you Id put up winning a GF like that)
When the times right there is noise allright. In the many years Ive been at KP there have been time when the crowd have helped to get them over the line but nothing like the sound that comes from the performance of the fantastic.Comes the day when a crowd favourite like Nathan or somebody else turns its on,takes the mark, kicks the goal, does the unexpected then I suggest you bring your ear plugs you will need them.
