With Gold Coast having a potential starting midfield of Anderson Rowell and Petracca all either pick 1 or 2 is that the highest picks in a midfield for quite sometime?

I can think of Carlton maybe having a time where they had an all number 1 pick midfield Murphy Gibbs Kreuzer and Judd a number 3 pick.

Gold Coast will also have Jammara,Walter and Z Uwland 1,2 and 3 in their lineup potentially.
What other sides have matched or had more of these top 3 picks?

And have any been successful?

2025 Brisbane had 3- W Ashcroft pick 2 F/S Rayner pick 1 and Mcluggage Pick 3
2024

2023 Collingwood had 0- Daicos the highest at 4 F/S

2022 Geelong 0 Gary Rohan no 6

2021 Melbourne 3 - Petracca 2 Jackson 3 Brayshaw 3

2020 Richmond 1- Cotchin 2
2019

2018- WCE 1- Masten 3

2016- Bulldogs 1- Boyd

2015-2 Hodge 1 Roughead 2
2014
2013

2012- Sydney 0- Bolton 8

2011- Geelong 1- Brad Ottens 2

Hawkins only avoids this list by a technicality if we are being fair.

It must be nice to have a bundle of top 5 picks running around as you go for a 3rd flag!

Yes the old rules made it a bit hard to gauge, I think Levi and Will would be the only top 5 picks for Brisbane, they have also done some great recruiting.

St Kilda would of had 3-4 #1picks in their prime Kositschke, Goddard, Riewoldt and Gardiner the ones I can think of and Luke Ball number 2 pick.

True, Annable was pick 6 but if you add that to the Ashcroft boys, McCluggage and Rayner it's a fair bit of quality. Like all premiership teams, great recruitment, trading, development and coaching on top of that.

What was GWS' most stacked (via top 5/6 picks) list?

GWS last year would of had top 3 picks Kelly/Hogan/Coniglio/Whitfield/Cadman/Callaghan off the top of my head. Some of their players early days where taken in a pool of players a year before so it is hard to say what number pick they were.
