So let me get this straight;

-J Hird, club legend, but no coaching exp
-Bomber Thompson to quite likely slot in as "head of coaching" but better titled position
-Wellman as assistant
-Laidley to get assistant coach role
-Simon Goodwin, first year out of football as "trainee" assistant coach
-Richardson also to stay for next year as assistant coach

So basically, according to those facts Bomber gets to go from being a coach of an AFL club which led to burnout and exhaustion to a new job at another AFL club where he basically has to be an AFL coach again.....

This will end well

The comments they're putting out are hinting at it being "senior assistant", & I still believe Choco's right in the frame, but basically yes. Not sure Laidley will be involved at all, or where he'd fit in.

Could give Bomber/Choc a bit less pressure, fewer commitments, but still plenty to do to keep them interested. And I think our list, while clearly not there yet, has a bit of potential for improvement.

I'm as excited by Goodwin, Wellman & <either of Choc/Bomber> as Hird. What stuck out with Knights was the panel below him really didn't excite.
