Watched The Dark Compass ("MOVIE WATCHER!!!") which I imagine has spoiled a bunch of episodes or an entire season. Interested to see HBO do this story as I imagine they'll make the content and style more adult.

Yep, watched the first two episodes and I'm definitely keen to watch more.

Loved Ruth Wilson from 'Luther' and seems to play a similar-ish type of character (smart, devious, etc). I'm really digging little Lyra the rebel, more than holding her own as one of the leads. Story seems like it has a lot to unfold before we get to the juice centre.

Haven't read the book and never watched the movie with Kidman in it so watching with no preconceptions and enjoying it.

Really like the way they're pacing this. There's a good mix of things happening now & things being set up for the future. And with the constant movement between places, there's always the chance to add more charcaters, plotlines, etc...

Season 2 actually not all that far away (October/November)... 'Fleabag' fans will love the Andrew Scott/Phoebe Waller-Bridge (character/daemon) combo:
