After an incident at an EFC function he was never going to get a new contract, wont say anything here as I didn't see the incident with my own eyes so don't have 100% what happened. I wish the guy well was a favourite of mine when at Ess. Never shirked a contest but was lazy off field and had a very poor attidude.

Hope Dimma can get him up and about again, and hopefully now he has grown up a bit and realised just being drafted doesn't mean you've made it.

From what I (vaguely) recall at the time he had already turned down the new contract when this happened. Wasn't it the B&F at the end of his last season at EFC?

if he could improve his kicking under preasure he could be anything had forgotten all about him until i saw this thread, hope he makes it a player of his size and intensity would be good in our team.

Slops is lucky to still be on an AFL list

I expect that our selectors are wanting more consistent form at coburg - at least 5-6 games worth before he gets called up

When he does I'll be hoping like he'll play like we all expect him to play
Has the tools- let's hope he can piece it together

At the time, he had a contract in front of him but hadn't signed, I had thought we knocked it on the head but could've been the other way around.

Looking forward to watching Coburg tomorrow on TV, from what I saw of Hislop when he got a couple of gigs for us is that he was a slow half forward flanker with a poor set shot.

The footage of him coming into the draft was of a tough, contested ball winner. Interested to see if he can cut it.
