Yes, despite the fact he says he's innocent, she spoke under parliamentary privilege.
It was speculated in the days/weeks prior to Porter identifying himself, that he would have been outed under parliamentary privilege anyway. That aspect may have some bearing in the defamation proceedings in that it was inevitable he would be identified, that it was only a matter of time.

Turnbull suggested we all knew. Any suggestion of parliamentary privilege is moot.

The suggestion of parliamentary privilege isn't moot if it was discussed within parliament before Porter identified himself.
The Canberra Bubble was run in early Nov, I'd suggest it was known widely following that.
Porter considered legal action after that program (Peter Bartlett of Minters was consulted).
That ABC story was altered after legal advice - that will get a hearing.
The parties to this action are the ABC & Ms Mulligan. That others knew Porter was the person referred to isnt an issue.

Allegations Ms Mulligan (sic) has been fiddling with evidence ... not a good look Louise, when you've got nothing to hide.
Be sure to watch the ABC News, even 7.30 might give it an airing. Fat chance

The allegations were contained in a letter sent to the ABC’s Head of Disputes & Litigation Team, Grant McAvaney, by reputational risk lawyer Rebekah Giles on March 23 following a federal court order that Mr Porter provide the broadcaster with “further particulars of identification, republication and/or aggravated damages” relating to his defamation acti“It has come to our attention that Ms Milligan and perhaps the ABC have been deleting social media posts relevant to these proceedings which could go to issues of identification, aggravation, and malice, if it becomes relevant. In our view this is a serious matter that requires your urgent attention,” Ms Giles said in the letter.

“Over the last two weeks we have captured the social media pages of your clients. Any deletions will be immediately apparent. We request you let us know your position in relation to this matter.

“We have also been informed that Ms Milligan uses encrypted messaging apps that have the capacity to automatically delete communications after a set period of time. This is also of significant concern to us.

Ms Giles went on to request the ABC furnish her with a list of all alterations made to Milligan’s online report since it was first published, noting “we are instructed that the article has been amended at least once”.
“So that time and costs are not wasted we request that you now produce any earlier versions of the Article as they appeared on the ABC website,” she said in the letter.

That isn't fiddling with evidence.

Porter complains initially of defamation in articles and social media posts, gathering intel on readership and states they haven't been deleted now you're trying to claim Milligan is up to something shifty in deletes and edits.

Posts go up and down all the time and there are records of that activity.

You ignore an encrypted app.
The Court will decide if the actions referred to are kosher.

I think people are entitled to remove their posts if they find out or later realise they committed an offence. There's nothing wrong about that. Having said that, an apology would also be in order, if a court rules the offence was committed. We should find out in due course.

Giles seems like a very switched on lawyer who will be able to make even some innocent actions look suss. I reckon she will run rings around them.

If Milligan and the ABC didn't think that Porter, a lawyer, would involve top quality lawyers they were very naive.

I'd be surprised posts could not be recovered IF necessary.

Got to love Turnbull:
Retweets by ABC journalists of a claim by Malcolm Turnbull that a woman who accused Christian Porter of rape may not have died of suicide have dragged the former prime minister into the defamation battle between the Industry Minister and the public broadcaster.

Mr Turnbull told ABC radio on March 2, before Mr Porter outed himself as the cabinet minister facing historical rape allegations, that an inquest was needed to confirm the circumstances of the complainant’s death and suggested there were questions over whether she did commit suicide.

I haven't been paying a lot of attention over Easter but, was Malcolm Turnbull just offered a big gig by the Liberal government?

Yep in NSW. With the ALP selecting a CFMEU Mining official, they are odds on to win the seat for the first time, unless they manage to lose another unlosable election to the Shooters & Fishers.
The Nats hold the seat.

I think it's truthful but does the headline bother you?
No, I know what a headline is about.
As for the issue of a Skype interview, there are so many claims & counter claims, cherrypicking anything to convince yourself one way or the other is shallow.
