...about whether we can beat the Hawks with such a depleted list- I read today that Jimmy is doubtful for the game and Fletcher didnt do much at training- so if they doesnt play then our "out" list becomes- Jimmy. Heff, Alessio, Long, Misiti, Mercuri, Fletch & Caracella. Im pretty hopeful that Dustin will play though- but still our depth is being tested to the limit this week, and I think a victory of any sort will be a fantastic acheivement- especially considering how confident I was about this game a week or so ago.

Im hoping Corey McGrath gets a run, and that our youngsters can stand up for the occasion.

I think a win in this game will be our most important this season if we can get up.

Yeah Arch, things look a bit grim. Can't recall having so many "star" players out since probably '97 (shudder). We bloody better win this weekend or I'll hear no end of it from the wife & her family. Rassn frassn.....

P.S. Love the sig, bloody pisser!

I win this weekend could do a world of good for the confidence of this side (as if they couldn't be any more confident). Our much heralded depth has yet to be tested, so this will prove to be a great test for our players. I really do look forward to the challenge, and don't view it with any trepidation at all. Cannot wait for Saturday night, and I know the boys will do us proud...win, lose or draw. They are a remarkable 'team' and this will again be demonstrated on Saturday night.

Oi Dave...you go by 'Supreme Ruler' now? Oh well...I guess the 'Red & Black Avenger' tag has been unceremoniously wrenched from your grasp by Dan the Man!

I personally can't be bothered defending my side against some of the lowlifes that occupy these boards. Our results speak for themselves really.

Adrian
Go 'Bombers'!!

Adrian, know what you mean. Most of the regular's that are worth reading don't seem to post much on the main board any more, guess they're sick of the crap too. Note Dan I said most not all :)

The tag actually goes with the avatar. Go have a look at the DNRC section of the Dilbert website and you'll see what I mean :)

Dave

Go Dons!!

remember when we beat the bulldogs in 99 in a night match at the g
we had a heap out, including fletcher, hird and a few others, we had injuries on the night and didnt have a bench and we fought through to win

hopfully this can bring the best out of us and the kids will step up and prove how good they are

forster knight has come in and he was awesome in the reserves last week, playing on a half back flank and running through the midfield, he had close to 30 possies and looks ready to step up

jonathan robran also back in, probably one of the most unluckiest players on the list, didnt do a thing wrong in the few games last year and has been sensational this year playing forward or back and if fletcher does miss in sure he can cover him or atleast release fletch forward

remember also that hawthorn have hay, rawlings and holland out, thats three great players missing for them aswell

i think we still go in better on paper, even if we took hird and fletch out, we have the goods and i think we can get over the line

Walshy, don't get me wrong, I still think we can win & I'll be pissed off if we don't. I'm just not as confident :) I've got a lot of respect (not to mention a few other emotions) for the Hawks.

And yeah, I remember that game v the doggies, I was there. It was bloody great. One of the best H&A wins I've seen.

nah i didnt get you wrong arch at all
i know what you meant

its going to be a great challange for the kids though, and personally im looking forward to it

its a chance for those who have been around for a couple of years to step up under pressure, rioli, jacobs, henneman, mcveigh, bolton etc

and its also a chance for forster-knight and perhaps even mcgrath to show exactly what they have got

Looking at our team on paper, it still looks stronger than the Hawks team despite our injuries.

We will be up against it, but if the Hawks can't beat us on Saturday, they never will. For the first time, in more than two years, we go into a match with less pressure on us than our opponent. I think that will hold us in good stead, and we will win.

well silly me- thinking it'd be a close game, I even had doubts about tipping us this week but stuck with my usual motto of "never bet against the red n black"- just stoked with that win.

totally stoked.

Also SO glad to see Cory play well. Ive been waiting and waiting on him to get his chance and he didnt dissappoint.

great work Essendon !!!!!!
:D
