Said by Ric Charlesworth bagging clubs who preferred not to play games in Cairns and Darwin.
With all respect to his success as a Hockey coach I think this comment shows how little he knows about footy. Training for a six month season with players that require a lot of muscular bulk and have to contend with the physical side of footy have to be trained in a much different way than hockey players. To draw a comparison seems ridiculous. Of course trainig and playing in heat and humidity may be okay for hockey players that play in India, Pakistan and Malaysia but it is hardly a good thing for conditioning footy players before the regular season who will be playing in the cold and wet most games.
