Hawthorn's Luke Hodge could have to wait another week to make his debut as captain and, along with hard nut Brad Sewell, is under an injury cloud for tomorrow's clash against Melbourne at the MCG.

Sewell looked fine today. Hodge didnt really train with the group and he didnt have footy boots on.

We are having a fair run with injuries. We have one major and one minor injury to senior players. Sounds pretty fair to me.

Hodge and Sewell will both play. Would make sense to to keep one emergency fresh in case anything unforseen happens between now and game time.

Hodge didn't do much yesterday at training. Didn't notice any issue with Sewell. I think with the day-to-day ness of Hodgeys injury, it makes sense to have a backup.

Left field call is that maybe we will go in with one ruck, but that is really left field thing!

TBH, if Hodge isn't 100%, I'd either not be playing him at all or worst-case-scenario, play him deep in the forward line. Shouldn't risk this early.

I don't think we'll do it but it's something we need to start thinking about unless Renouf learns to kick. He has a great engine and keeps using it to find space and get the footy, but then he can't use it.
