I don't really care what other people think in regards to who is better. I could watch Hodgey play every day of the week. He's like a more mobile Glen Archer.

Lol don't think any of you have actually watched a Hawthorn game.
Hodge has done so much more than Ball over his career it isn't funny. Ball can't kick to save his life, is always getting injured and to say he is gutsier and more in-and-under is laughable, just look at Hodge's clearance rate and contested possessions from last year compared to Balls.

Ball is a great kick what are you talking about. He is also gutsier and more inclined to get his own hard ball, contrary to what you say.

I know Hodge hasn't been completely injury free either, however Ball has suffered far more significant setbacks in the form of chronic OP and multiple bang-crash injuries. If each had a clean bill of health and a strong pre-season under their belts, Ball would be better by a reasonable margin.

If only people had an idea as to what Hodge has played with over his career and this year he'd get the respect and credit he deserves.

On Judds day he has 38 possessions and 4 goals.... if Hodgey ever achieves that I will drink 24 beers in 2 hours

Good point. I would have taken Ball earlier in their careers but it seems that Ball has somewhat platuead and Hodgey has quitely gone bout his business. Hodgey for me

different types of players with balls strength being predominantly in and under and hodge mainly a handball reciever. you need both in your team which is why call and dal santo work well together when both fit. ball is yet to hit his straps though due to playing with op last year. should be very good this year with a bit of luck

Biggest myth in football. Plays like Glen Archer with the extraction abilities of Sammy Mitchell. One of the hardest players in the AFL. People who constantly claim he is a handball receiver just because he spends time on a HBF have absolutely no idea about the game of football.

I doubt it. His studs-out thigh-kick on Lappin was one of the lowest and most cowardly gutless acts I have seen on the football field for some time. A wide-receiving, selfish, unaccountable, faint-of-heart, fraidy cat HB Flanker doesn't get respect in my books, or i'm sure in the eyes of others.....

If that is one of the most cowardly and gutless acts you have seen on a football field you obviously havent watched that much football at all...

A wide recieving selfish faint of heart fraidy cat HB flanker, Lappin or Hoops anyone?

Hodge is 10 times the player of anyone on your list you nob! Go and climb back into that sewer you climbed out of this morning..

Hey the Main Man,

If you have ever read any other posts from one_twelve112 you would realise that he definitely hasn't watched much football. Understandable, because they say you go blind if you do it too often.:D

Cheers, MB.

Probably would rather have Hodge.
So what if he gets some cheap kicks of the half back flank?
Not every player needs to be tough to be valuable to their team, because if you had 22 players who were in and under types, they would be getting the ball out of the pack for no reason, as they wouldn't have players there to receive it.

Hodge gets my vote, because of the way he uses the ball.
He is all class.

You take stupidity to a whole new level.

And I know you post this sort of crap to get a rise out of other supporters, as I've seen you do it on numerous occasions, but you could at least try to bend the truth a little, not completely fabricate it.

This and the shrinking-violet Richie's assault on Essendon opponents in 04....
The Hawks really seem to love the cheap-shots

I thought I told you to go back to the sewer you crawled out of this morning!

I can think of a cowardly act, Heath Scottland punching an innocent female outside a Ballarat Pub...

From what I can gather, Hodge can play midfield, wants to play midfield, but isn't being used there. A couple of years ago, I would have taken Ball, but I'm now leaning toward Hodge. He is definitely a more damaging kick of the ball.
