Scandal Hogan spotted on the smokes at music festival while suspended

Non issue. Personally, I'm leaning towards that dart being more green than brown, but even if it is, that doesn't change the fact that what someone does in their own time is up to them. It just looks bad if people know he was suspended, but didn't know he was given leave to go home, then it seems like he has ditched his teammates. Once you know the details, the outrage disappears (such is the case with all garbage journalism).

If it's the green stuff he is breaking the law....

Only went with PJ's as I'm pretty sure they were the last tobacco VFL sponsor. Plus the others would be far too highbrow for old mate Robbie.

True. He may have been a Viscount or Park Drive man. Strong and harsh.

I remember too the pic of Jezza and two others having a gasper in the changerooms after a game. May have been Percy and Maylin or Buckley.

True, but he is a professional athlete. He shouldn't be smoking. Clubs want their athletes to get the absolutely most out of themselves - which in turn benefits the clubs chance of winning a premiership. We seen this with Essendon - whatever it takes. Hogan appears to of taken a different approach - I don't give a f***. It reads as if he is putting himself ahead of the team. However, he probably won't take much heat from it because of his situation with his old man. So that is fair enough I guess. Hogan gets a pass. Not sure the Dees would want to see it happen too often.

So a player doing coke at a bar is ok by you?

Only if they share. Otherwise it's a dog act

The extended thumb whilst taking a drag is a dead give away that he is simply an amateur trying to look cool or get down with the "In" crowd. Probably only started that day. Nothing 10 weeks of daily counciling sessions can't fix.

I see where you're coming from, but people often overlook the wholistic concept of health. For example:

>Hogan stressed out by family situation and high pressure role at Melbourne
>Hogan relieves this stress by spending time with friends back home
>Hogan (rightly or wrongly) believes that smoking with his friends helps him (in the case of tobacco) or genuinely believes the psychoactive effects of marijuana will benefit him
>Hogan has now relieved a significant amount of stress
>With the stress now relieved, Hogan is now refreshed and more capable of handling the rigours of the AFL lifestyle
>Hogan returns to Melbourne, more ready and willing to train to his maximum potential, which he wouldn't have done otherwise

In somewhat mathematical terms, this minor negative impact on his physical health (smoking is bad, but not so much in isolated events) has brought about a significant positive benefit to his mental health. This mental health benefit then comes back around to give a benefit to physical health through modulating behaviour.

This is just an example, but you get the gist. If Hogan's excuse is simply "**** you, I just had a smoke because I wanted" then it still has it's benefits, since if it makes him happy, then he's more prone to stick to his current situation. Plenty of elite athletes quit or crumble due to being unable to handle everything that comes with it. If this is how he handles it, then so be it.

So Jesse goes home to WA while suspended to see his ill father, then bails on the poor guy and goes to some shitty festival to get on the piss and fang a few durries. Top bloke.

This is a garbage post. Have you ever been in a situation with a family member having a terminal illness? It is ******* awful and maybe he just wanted to take his mind off it, because I can assure you it dominates your thinking.

The worst part of this is that Josh Mahoney said that they support Jesse having time off to support his sick father...(which is fair enough)
But he is at a music festival.......
Come on Melbourne.....come on...

How does this get in the Scandals and Rumours forum?

If anything, the fact that in this day and age, a man of legal age of consent particapting in a legal activity is considered a scandal is what is the real scandal.

Gee I miss the days of the Escort Cup when footballers were part time plumbers, beer drinkers, smokers and their tattoos came from their time in prison.
