One thing that has irked me is when a player is caught holding the ball and when he's on the ground still in possession of the ball he simply lets go of the ball (after the whistle has blown and he knows he's been pinged) and stands up to guard the mark. I see this happen at least had a dozen times a game and I've never seen a 50 metre penalty awarded which by rights should be the case. If you're in possession and don't give it back it's 50 in every other situation, so why is this one exempt?
