"He's been taking pot shots at the club ever since he got the sack. You'd think someone playing in his day would at least understand, especially being from my club.

Didnt back down one bit.

Said he is not Collingwood PR machine

Said he was vindicated by tribunal in his comments

pointed out Brodie should be more concerned about incident where he needed to put his head over the ball but didnt.

Told him to grow up.

BTW Shaw was renowned for copping more and not complaining than he gave. I dont think he was dirty. Used to have his nose broken by Greg Williams everytime he played on him.


Would have been dissapointed if he backed down.

Tony Shaw is a legend of the club no doubt, but it's about time someone took a shot at Tony Shaw the media identity. He feels he needs to give Collingwood undue criticism because as a club legend, he gets his comments printed and pumps up his image and he becomes a dial-a-quote. He is as bad as David Cloke is when you want to get a quote about one of his sons from him (although he has shut up in recent times), if someone at Collingwood or the club itself is under fire, ring up Tony Shaw and get a cheap headline.
