The club has acted pretty confident about Caufield since King was appointed but we've been teased before.

I haven't followed the story in a while but if it's the original plan, it's ****ing stupid and they'll not be able to train outside a lot more than they either realise or are willing to admit.I'd have to look at the plans again. But Caulfield is a fantastic location. I cant remember what it all looked like. Was the ground in the middle of the racecourse?
Oops, missed this. But yep, the fact that it was a former tip (and the various hazards associated with that), going way over the original budget (which always happens), the project lead and various other staff members leaving the club over the course of the project, board drama, and issues with funding. What held them up for so long, funding?

I'm sure it will also take a while to remove all the bodies.Oops, missed this. A whole host of things always pop up with projects of this size. Knowing us, we'll probably have multiple board spills and new CEOs over the course of the project![]()
Some talk we're still talking to the AFL about Waverley, perhaps as a stop gap until Caulfield is ready. Tigers also keen, but they have other options so we could make the case it's more pressing for us.
Pretty average since the club has been teasing an announcement for a couple of months.Wouldn't be getting your hopes up tbh.
Hasn't been going great lately apparently, so wouldn't even be surprised if it's gone backwards a bit. Guerra apparently discounting Waverley as an option is typical stubborn and arrogant MFC stuff too (assuming we didn't just get shut down by the AFL about it).Pretty average since the club has been teasing an announcement for a couple of months.
Waverley was up for grabs months and months ago and we sat on our hands. AFL bought it for about 10% of what Caufield is going to cost. Not surprised at all if we missed out especially since Richmond are also asking for it and have a stronger case than we do.Hasn't been going great lately apparently, so wouldn't even be surprised if it's gone backwards a bit. Pert's been gone a while now. No update of substance just more 'sooooon, soooon' stuff. I don't think it's going well tbh and I wouldn't be completely shocked if it ended up not going ahead at all.Anything said about it at the AGM?
Didn't we keep Pert on to deal solely with seeing this through?
Not sure about the government, but have heard our stakeholder management has been exceptionally poor this year.Smith made a comment about one of the board members 'learning a lot about politics'. Basically sounds like there was a substantial speedbump in terms of actually getting the government on board.
Funny thing is, this actually could end up being the case.Tassie will have their facilities built and up and running before this happens. What a joke.
I’d run a book on it.Funny thing is, this actually could end up being the case.
You're asking for government to move faster the government's holding it up do you know how slow the government does thingsYeah this is shithouse to be honest. They talked about how big a priority this was two years ago and we've seen literally zero progress.
Could be part of it - But the actual talk going around is we've been mismanaging the key stakeholders and they are close to pulling the pin due to our poor management. You're asking for government to move faster the government's holding it up do you know how slow the government does things
