Don't make me flail at you!

I'm going to work with a smile on my face thanks to you sir.

It is an interesting point. I remember asking one of the Freo morons ( I think it was Ripper) years ago about this very thing.
Apparently our home crowd is quiet, only makes noise when we're winning, spends more time knitting, sipping Chards etc... where as Freo's crowd is loud, passionate, never leave before the end of the game, diehard.....
Yet, we intimidate the umpires into giving us lots of unwarranted softies and Freo get nothing with their passionate loud supporters. I'm confused.

One of the great mysteries of the universe.

Clearly no one has worked out the conspiracy yet. We influence the umpires by bribing them with the excellently knitted socks, jumpers and scarves that we create while watching the games.

One particular ump loves the socks I knit for him during matches, he was actually wearing them against Norf. I told him he won't get the matching scarf until after the Bombers game. So it's all sorted.

It happens every where

Some are worse then others

I swear the crowd noise mics at Subi are right next to two guys who just boo constantly.

Sitting on the Mainy wing all game there was sporadic boos (Big Ezy and Scooter's holding the ball), however when I watched the replay at home it sound like two guys booing the entire game, even when we scored.

I did notice the rather large gentleman who Mick O'Loughlin scared wasn't there this week...

I thought he was? we noticed he didnt walk out on the ground, but thought we saw him standing near the fence before the siren

haha so do we... hence why we looked for him after noting his absence! in all honesty, the walk onto the ground would have been hard at his size, wondering if he is no longer capable?

Nah he was there yesterday
Caught him eating two members of the cheer squad at half time
I swear it is getting smaller and smaller
Big man
Also v hawks after the banner saw him walking the boundary but was unable to lend a hand carrying it back and took a short cut inside the boundary line back to his seat

Only cheating himself

just watching Footy Classified. That show is a disgrace.

Grant Thomas is pathetic. Pretty much alluded to us having WA umpires at our Subiaco Oval games and favouring us.

Then also said our home crowd was responsible for giving us more freekicks than anywhere in the country. So kudos to our fans for creating a cauldron like atmosphere and supporting our blokes! :thumbsu:

But I thought we were aging old knitters who couldn't turn up the volume to save our lives and we should surrunder our memberships to ITW members??:confused::confused:

I think that was when we weren't on top of the ladder, now we are pure evil, ducking cheater supporters.
If I supported Collingwood, I'd swear you were talking about a spotted cat.

I don't think we deserve a toast just yet

Could do more than the usual Eagles *clap* *clap* *clap* whenever we score a goal

Need more chants or unofficial songs.:thumbsu:

Booing and whistling whenever the opposition has the ball needs to happen. Especially from the Kickout :thumbsu:

And get the Mexican Wave happening again:D

A crowd influencing the officials is nothing new. It's a significant component of home ground advantage.
In the case of the Port game though, the crowd was pretty chillaxed nearly all game. Port were just playing a lot of careless/dumb footy. And that is exactly the problem with "analysing" the umpiring based only on for & against free kick stats. I'm the first to acknowledge that the Eagles often get a good run at home, but sometimes one team just gives away more than the other.

Uneven free kick count: OMG the only explanation is that the umpires were crap!!!
Uneven hard ball gets & clearances: OMG the only explanation is that the statisticians were crap!!!
Destroyed in the hit-outs: OMG clearly the umps can't throw it up straight!!!
