I was just wondering if anyone else here has made their own beer before???? If so, how did it go?

I've just made my first batch of Draught and it is currently going through the "fermentation" process. Hopefully, in a few months time, it should be ready to drink!

Come on, give us your story!

Thanks WCE, I appreciate that!

I have got bloody easy instructions to follow, but any tips to make better beer would be handy!

We used to brew it all the time, we found Coopers was the best result in all the varieties. Main thing is to keep it warm, in a cupboard with a light in it is the best way, it ferments a lot quicker that way & make sure you have an accurate thermometer. Also, to stop the ocassional exploding bottles, save all your plastic lemonade bottles & use them instead, you can buy the new lids from home brew shops. If you are lucky like us & know someone who works for a pub or brewery, get a keg & brew it in that for parties. For lower alcohol use less sugar & more sugar if you want it strong, but I guess you knew that.

Thanks Sandie, I did know that about using more/less sugar to increasing/decreasing the alcohol level.

I never thought of using plastic bottles. Thanks again Sandie. I'll keep that in mind.

I might have to start printing these posting out if there are any more good tips.lol
