If flakey Freo can beat them surely we can, right?

It's a Showdown, they take more pride in big games than we do.If flakey Freo can beat them surely we can, right?

I like your optimism but I stopped thinking that way after the disgusting showing in the Russell Ebert tribute match.
Lol yeah, I was 100% taking the piss out of it.I like your optimism but I stopped thinking that way after the disgusting showing in the Russell Ebert tribute match.
This jumper means shit to these players and even less to an exiting coach that helped ruin the Magpies.
I reckon we'll get done by 15 goals
A good indicator of what Showdowns have become is my wife and I. She’s Crows, I’m Port. When we met 6 years ago we cared, but this week it’s barely rated a mention between us.These Showdowns have become a funny thing. After LVI of them plus countless pre-season and trial games, they've sort of become pedestrian.
Winning them is more a relief than anything and if we lose I tune footy out for a few days including the crows supporters at work who have been shitting on their team for 7 years telling me how great they are.
Can't say I'm feeling dread or anticipation. Of course I'm hoping the Port that played Hawthorn or good parts of most other games, excluding Collingwood and Bulldogs, turns up for four quarters.
I do expect a bounce back from last week and want to at least see a desperate tackling/pressure effort and some cohesive team play with dash and dare.
Will we win? Who knows. It's less than more likely but it's certainly possible.
Be nice to be fairly umpired this week.

Same. It's not even been mentioned in my house, and we used to try and avoid watching them together so a football rivalry wouldn't create chaos.A good indicator of what Showdowns have become is my wife and I. 1.50 - 2.50 odds seems to be Port's Achilles heelJust noticed our odds have gone from 2.35 earlier in the week to 2.75 after selection. By bounce we'll be firmly in the 'rank outsider' box, which perversely may actually help.
