Not the Gabba again !!

This is it - time to lay the hoodoo ( can you lay a hoodoo ? ) to rest. The Lions will be blown away early and the defence will then resist until the end. Here's a team with a 10 win run actually going in as underdogs against a team that have not strung 2 wins together this season !

I just can't see the Lions having enough scoring options when real pressure is applied. I sense a big Blues win.

I hope you're right. It is strange that Brisbane are favourites and Leigh Matthews expressed surprise at this, considering Carlton's position and form. I guess many people feel that Brisbane are playing their best football again.

In any other year, Carlton would be attracting all the attention as the outstanding team. It's Round 16, they've only lost 3 games and are on a 10 match winning streak. This deserves publicity, but I don't think Carlton would mind that most of the attention is focussed on Essendon.

The rest of the competition seems increasingly further away from these two teams at the moment.

The nightmare of Gabba Finals has been exorcised from my mind.

I can't wait to take on the Dons and provide the loss that their fans secretly wish for.
